Question about Hitachi 60V500 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
My tv has done the same as many others listed and has a blue screen with some pink lines. However, two years ago when i had a bulb to blow, somehow a replacement light engine was shipped to me by hitachi but the tech never asked for it so naturally, I kept it! It is still in the package, with no instructions, im sure. Has anyone seen a tech do the replacement? Is it just unplugging the old one and replacing? can it be done with just regular tools and a little patience? Please advise Thank You
Ok, i have fixed it. you have to take the whole thing apart and just switch it out. took me about 7 hours, almost everything comes off the tv. pull off the entire screen and box. then take off the back metal frames. unplug about 8 wires and swap it out.
