The user before me made several (15) backups each one created a, I backup set file, with extention *.nb7. each one is 170meg or larger and I need space, can I just delete these nb7 files and not crash

It is safe to delete these files. (however)

The question is, will you need any of the backup data in the future? If this is a company PC, I would get an external drive and move the backups instead of deleting them.

How to delete songs

You cant delete anything once files are burnt to a disk.
you will have to copy the music to a folder then delete the music files that you don't want then you can add more music files then burn them to another cd/dvd
Click start click on computer to open you should see your drives C: and your other drives cd dvd and your phone E: or F:

Right click on the the music disk to open you should see your music

from there you select the music files right click on the music file/s select copy navigate back to the drive right click select paste or hold the mouse cursor the music file/s drag them to your
computer and paste them in usually in my documents my music.

Enter the BIOS and ensure that the Hard drive is indeed being seen by the computer.

Open up the chassis side panel and ensure that all conections are making contact.

Hi I'am currently trying to set up my new Verbatim usb 3.0 super speed desktop hard drive and iam finding it difficult to instal nero back up and i dont have a clue as to save my pictures and music onto it...

For backups of music/pictures, you can either user windows backup tool.
Or if you want to choose more specific files then, create a new folder within you new external HD and name it 'Back Up' within this folder create some more folders say Documents, Music and Pictures.
From here navigate to the files/Folders you want to backup and right click and copy them, next head back over to you backup folder we created and paste the files to the relevant folder whether its music pictures or documents.
If you need more just ask.

I have downloaded I tunes & its telling me that I tunes is locked

Sounds like your permissions are a bit messed up. Try this:

In the Finder, use the Go menu and choose Utilities. Look for Disk Utility and open it up. Click on your hard drive on the left and click the Repair Permissions button on the right. After it completes, restart your computer and try opening iTunes again.

How to send music data from my main drive which is labeled C drive to my second drive which is labeled D drive.

The easiest way to do this would be to select the file/s by left clicking on them 1st and then right cllick on the selected file/s, click on "copy", Open your "D" drive, right click anywhere on the "D" drive and then click on paste.

Thanks.

External Hard Drive

some external hard drives comes with software that would enable you to backup entire files/folders with a single click or command. Some with a built in switch that perform the same action.
As for an entire OS, you said you want to "move" the entire system? I guess you can do this using a program like norton ghost, that will create an exact image of your OS and place it to your hard disk.

Need to format my hard drive

Firstly before you format the hard drive be aware that when you start the format process you will lose any data that is currently on that hard drive so make sure you backup all important files such as word and excel documents , pictures , music etc...

--------------------------------------
Formatting Primary HDD
--------------------------------------
1. Insert the Windows installation CD and restart the computer

2. Your computer should boot from the cd , or ask to press any key to boot from cd

3. at the next welcome screen press "enter"

4.Press F8 after reading the licence agreement

5.If an existing installation is detected it asks if you want to repair it , to bypass this and continue with the clean format press "esc"

6.Use the ARROW keys to select the partition or the unpartitioned space where you want to create a new partition. Press D to delete an existing partition, or press C to create a new partition. (if an existing partition exist press "D" then "C" to start from scratch")

7. If your not worried about partitions jsut press enter to create it the maximum size

8.Choose NTFS file system and press enter

9. After the install has completed follow any instructions it gives you.

10. you're all done now you will need to reinstall software , drivers etc...
