Question about RCA RCR860 Remote Control

1 Answer

Most of the functions don't work

I purchased a RCR860 universal remote form Best Buy. I bought it to replace the remote for my Mitsubishi TV - Model #CS-32509. I purchased the RCR860 mainly because it had a PIP function. The instructions were very difficult to follow. I read and reread the instructions for programming the remote as did my son and his friend. I finally had some success by using the Direct Code Entry method. I could get some functionality with the Mitsubishi Code numbers 1006 and 1082. The other codes did not work at all. The only functions that work are as follows: Chanel, Volume, Info and Go Back. Three very important functions do not work:PIP, Menu and Input. I don't know what most of the other functions are for since there was no explanation for them in the instruction pamphlet. I spent $27.00 for the remote and it basically does nothing more than change channels and control the volume. I could have spent $9.99 and had the same thing. Your web site has not been helpful since I am unable to search the model number of the remote. Please give me some directions as to where I can go to find out how to program the remote so that all the functions work. If the remote is just going to change channels I will take it back to Best Buy. They may not take it back since it is out of the package. Please advise!

I have the manual and the codes. I have read and reread the manual. I have followed the direction to the letter and still many functions on the remote do not work. Also the manual does not explain many of the function buttons. I assume the Go Back button will take you back to the previous channel but it doesn’t. I assume that PIP means Picture in a Picture but it doesn’t work. What does Aspect mean? There is no explanation for it.

All universal remote control won't work with all the functions to the TV. If you wish to get it properly, you have to buy its original remote control. If you wish to buy its original remote control, contact the authorized service centre, or authorized dealer to your device brand. They can either give you a genuine remote control to your device, or can direct you, from where can you purchase a suitable one.

Need a remote or tv code

Most universal remotes will work and the code will always come with the remote. There is not one set of universal codes that come with the TV. The codes are remote specific, so if you are looking for a code refer to your remote instructions and manufacturer and not your TV literature. Your best bet to get full functionality is to get a logitec harmony remote. They usually cost a bit more and take more to program but they are the best I have found to absolutely get all the function you could ever get because you can program as many extra buttons as you want. Another option is to call the manufacturer, their number will be listed in the user manual. They can send you the original remote. It may cost somewhere in the range of $15-$50.

Remote control code for a daenyx tv

My Daenyx DN-191 D TV remote stopped worked after a while. I didnt get one universal remote that works with this piece of junk. I called their customer service at 1-877-329-8351. They said the remote will be $30 + $7 (shipping) + tax. Your best bet will be to buy a replacement remote or better toss this junk off the window.

Refuses to work

you are going to have to try a new universal remote because that one is not capable of programming to your tv. not all universals will work. trial and error. your best option sense you need to purchase a new remote is to go to www.replacementremotes.com and search my your TV model number and purchase the original equipment manufactured remote for your tv. Good news you wont have to program it either. and it will work your menu functions.
