Can't find part # of o-ring about 1.5 feet long inside bottom of unit which had broken. Help.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Bissell 9500 ProHeat 2X Clean Shot Upright. The best place to get the part # for the o-ring is from the owner’s manual for the Bissell, check the Bissell website or to call the Bissell factory or manufacturer and give them the Model # of your unit and they will mail you out one. Always use genuine Bissell products made for the model that you have for best results. So check with your local factory authorized vac dealer that carries and services Bissell. I will give you the Bissell factory phone # listed below for further questions. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

How To Fix Your Bissell Carpet Cleaner When Solution Doesn't Spray

If you have a Bissell Carpet Cleaner, and you're machine is not spraying water on the floor, there are several things that might be causing this. Here's a list of possible problems that might be causing the machine not to spray water:

It may be a problem with your pump belt. Bissell Carpet Cleaners use a belt that powers the pump to spray solution out. There are also a few other possible issues, but as a Bissell warranty station, the belt going bad out-numbers all other problems.

Remove the belt access door and inspect the pump belt to ensure it is not broken, worn or stretched. You may also check the belt by turning on the power and watching the brush on the bottom of the machine. If the brush rotates the belt is not broken.

If your belt is worn out or broken, here's a direct link to that belt on our website:

Here's a great video that will show you how to check, and replace the pump belt on your ProHeat carpet cleaner:

If this was not the problem, here are some other things that you may check:

  • Make sure there is liquid in both the Tank-in-Tank and the SmartMix bottle. Both tanks must contain fluid or the machine will not spray properly.
  • Check for proper placement of the o-ring on the SmartMix Cap Insert (some o-rings are detachable and need to fit over the straw; others are molded to the cap).
  • Check for liquid in the base of the machine where the SmartMix Bottle sits (SmartMix Reservoir). If there is no liquid in the reservoir, the neck on the SmartMix Bottle may be undersized and the cap will not make proper contact with the unit. If there is no liquid present, you will need a replacement SmartMix Bottle.
  • Check for the black or red tank gasket on the SmartMix Bottle Cap and on the bottom of the Tank-in-Tank Assembly. If gasket is lodged in base of unit or has been lost, reattach gasket on auto-load or order new gasket if appropriate.
  • Check the valves on the bottoms of the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle to make sure water/solution will come through when the "x" valve is depressed. (Bladder or SmartMix bottle may be empty or the valve may be blocked internally.) Use a soft-bristled brush and hot tap water to clear any debris. Replace autoload assembly or cap/insert if necessary.
  • Check if the small rounded window tabs on the top edge of the Floor Nozzle are locked in their mating slots on the base of the machine, and not inadvertently lifting the tank up out of place.

If these suggestions have not resolved the problem you are experiencing with your machine, you might want take your machine to a local BISSELL Authorized Service Center. I really hope that this information was helpful to you. If you find what's wrong with your Bissell and have specific questions about how you can fix it, please just let me know and I'll be happy to walk you through step by step to fix any problem you may have on your Bissell.

Thanks,

Chris Jones

My Bissell Pro Heat 2X steam cleaner is not releasing the water

Have you tried cleaning out the small filterfrom the reserve tank? Also, check the tank/resevoir valve is operating properly, when you take it out to fill try to make water release from tank.

Bissell Pro heat 2x the shampoo tank empties out

the o-ring is likely dislodged on the screw on cap

personally I would recommend just filling the soap container with water and a little bit of white vinegar instead of the detergent. You won't leave soap residue in your carpet that way.

Bissell pro heat will not extract water from the carpet

Try checking the top section of the machine (where the dial is located to switch it from floor to tool) and there is a little red plastic piece about 1 inch square on the inside of it. This is a lint filter that has a little door on it. Open the door or remove the entire thing to clean it out. It is probably completely blocked with hair, etc.. which is why you have no suction. Replace it after you clean it out and hopefully your problem will be solved!

Bissell pro heat 2x multi surface carpet cleaner making spots

maybe there's not enough vacuum or it hasn't been primed enough. I have a proheat that drove me crazy till I started leaving the heat switch on. I get wads of carpet fiber that mat around brush and spit out on the carpet, so I frequently remove them. I'm just wondering if after you empty the water, it may not have built up the suction. Good luck! hope this may be helpful
