IFF YOU HAVE NO SOUND FROM ALL SOURCES TRY RUNNING A TEST TONE ,IFF YOU GET A HISS FROM EACH SPEAKER MAKE SHURE YOU HAVE TOLD THE AMP WERE EACH SOURCE IS PLUGED INTO.

HOPE THIS WORKS IFF NOT YOU MAY HAVE 2 GO BACK 2 YOUR DEALER AND SEND BACK 2 PIONEER.

PS,ARE YOU SHURE YOUR SPEAKERS ARE NOT BLOWN?

How to make a Pioneer vsx-816k/s last longer

I really don't recommend this product to anyone, or any newer pioneer products for that matter (except the elite line). This model has the "hybrid" design, which is a very flawed design. At first the speakers will start cutting in and out, and then some of them wont work at all, and then the receiver will flash "overload" and the receiver will go into a permanent protection, all because the receiver cant handle the resistance of the speakers(doesn't matter what speaker it is). Once in protect mode, press ENTER+ ADVANCED SURROUND and it will tell you what the problem is causing it to stay in protect mode. In order to keep this from happening, use external amps. Pioneer wants around 500 dollars to fix it if its out of warranty, it will cost at least 50 to fix it yourself, in most cases it will cost 150 to fix it yourself (most cases all 3 power modules will go out, or as pioneer calls them, power packs). If you have an older vsx model (50s-80s) then it is usually worth fixing. If your having problems with pioneer vsx 3600, 3700s, 3800, or 3900s, send me an email at Joshadk@embarqmail.com and i will help you the best i can

My Pioneer VSX-519V shut off after I setup my surround speakers ,I did a last test to be sure they were set correct ,I heard a loud pitch come from each speaker rather that the softer shhh sound ,my amp...

I'd disconnect the surrounds and try to bring up the receiver again. If it works you may have only cooked the surrounds. If not, you've possibly cooked the receiver. Disconnect all speakers and try again. If it still won't work then you need a tech to look at it.

What make/model speakers were you trying to set up?

Hi. I have just connected my Bose Acoustimass 6 series III speakers. When I run a MCACC test, the display shows 'noisy' and there is no error message. If I run it again it stops and shows just noisy after...

Either your ambient noise level is too high for the test, or you need to increase the volume for the test tones.

For any such audio calibration testing your ambient noise level should be as quiet as possible, preferably below the measurable level of an SPL meter...usually 50dB for most models.

Pioneer VSX-D710S and the message SP off and DTS off message appear and I have no sound. Any ideas how to turn them back on?

The SP off message is the setting for turning the speakers off while headphones are connected on some Pioneer models. If yours is one such model, hold down the RECEIVER button and press the SPEAKER (text may be written above another main function) button on the remote simultaneously and the sound should return.

Pioneer receiver shuts off

This might not be any help to someone else, but I fixed the problem by double checking all the speaker wire connections - on the speakers and behind the receiver. A couple banana plugs felt loose and I discovered that one connection on one speaker was out completely. Suppose I should have seen that sooner, but as soon as I ensured all the wires were where they were supposed to be, I encountered no more problems.

If your Pioneer receiver is shutting off on you, double check all your connections!

Sub woofer

Hello,
The subwoofer is totally independent from your Pioneer VSX-D412. You can check if it works like you did with a finger on the hot point of the RCA cable (not very good test, as you will hear noise and can't say if that means it works OK) or better connect a known receiver to the speaker connections in the sub and test to see if it’s working properly.
Regarding the receiver, you may not have enabled the VSX to output to the sub. Read the manual on how to check for that. Only Dolby Digital 5.1 signals will allow the sub out, in a receiver of this level. It normally will not let you use the sub in stereo mode. Some more complex units will allow you that, but I believe not this model.
Good luck
