Question about Creative Labs ZEN Vision:M Digital Media Player

1 Answer

Creative Vision M - 60GB; Disk problem

There looks like a damaged area on the disk; the player goes into a repetitive loop and makes odd swiping noises. I can fast forward it and it goes on playing OK - until the next time. Can I run a "Scan Disk" type utility or even reformat the disk? Or does it need a professional repair guy to look at it?

When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.
It will display the following options:
Clean Up
Scans the player and removes invalid links from its music library.
Does not affect music files themselves.
Format (All)
Caution! Erases all content!

There is no scan disk or Utility that i know of that will work sounds like the drive is toast!

I just purchased a Creative Zen Vision M on eBay. It is the 5th one I have purchased - mainly because I really liked mine and purchased one for my daughter, son and stepson. Unfortunately, my son had his...

Hello,

To the support page for Zen Vision M:
http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=213&CatName=MP3+Players&subCatID=214&subCatName=ZEN&prodID=14331&prodName=ZEN+Vision%3aM&bTopTwenty=1&VARSET=prodfaq:PRODFAQ_14331,VARSET=CategoryID:213

The device can be in totally MSC connection mode, seeing the player as a removable disk. Check the setting on the player:
See the small user guide (1.4 MB) on page 20: http://files2.europe.creative.com/manualdn/Manuals/TSD/9604/0x36469568/Zen%20Vision%20M%20User%20Guide%20English.pdf
When the amount of disk space in the removable disk mode is set to its highest capacity, there will be no memory left for the player using the Creative software program on the computer to put media on the device.

Decrease the amount of hard disk space to minimum, to recover memory for transferring media with the media software.

When the procedure above gives no result, reinstall the firmware. Have a download from the support page mentioned above (Europe).
Outside Europe: access the support page from your country for the required firmware.

When more help is needed, just post a comment.

DB is corrupted - reformatting will partially erase the native formatting of the player, so you may have to get the latest firmware upgrade to resolve the issue - restore key formatting elements.

Follow the link below. I beleive you want the Zencast organizer suite. Just choose your operating system and then you'll be ready to download. You can read details about the downloads before you actually do it. If this is what you were looking for PLEASE rate this as fixed. If not , don't rate this yet. mine did the same until i got a new power supply. it requires a 5volt dc pos tip charger with 20 watts. a universal 3-7.5v 2amp charger from radioshack does the trick. make sure the tip is yellow for the charger.

Creative Zen Touch firmware problem

This means both systems contain a bug, or cookie. If the firmware you accessed isn't applying itself to the device, this means the system itself has been corrupted. Double check with your system configuration properties on each device, and tell me whats going on from there.
