Question about Saeco Caffe Charisma Espresso Machine

Saeco Vienna: water does not go through to the main unit

My Saeco Vienna is acting up after about 4 years of great work: when I turn it on, the pump goes, but no liquid coffee comes out. We figured the water from water tank does not get to the main unit, because the machine's 'garbage' bin contains dry ground coffee, not the round wet tablets. Any ideas? Thank you. After descaling & adjusting the grinder, everything worked fine for a day. Now when I went to make a cup of coffee, water went into the dump box, instead of my cup. I tried cleaning the brew group again but still no change. I hope no one has this problem, it's so frustrating.

I get some coffee, but less than before - and the dump box is also filling with water (the missing water!). Something is blocked somewhere but I can't figure it out. Help please.

Cafe charisma does not let water go through the ground beans.  The by-pass (for decaf) works as does the steamer and frother.

Hi. Sounds like a blocked or jammed brew unit. Remove brew unit and clean. To properly do this, you need to disassemble the brew unit. Canbe quite hard to do. The brew units are usually held together with plastic tabs, and may have to remove some screws to allow these tabs to release units assembly. Dazza REPAIRER

On my saeco vienna machine i hear the pump working but no water is coming through

Any water leaks following the pumping sound ?

If there is no leaks, I would try to get some hot water from the wand.

If there is still no water coming out, I would:

1-Decalcify thoroughly

2-Open the machine and take the inside out and verify the status of the water pipes going from the water tank to the boiler than to the wand and the brew unit ... to make sure there is no restriction.

3-Replace water pump

Saeco Vienna Superautomatica will not make a full cup of coffee

Hi,
I'm wondering if you had any luck solving this? After 3 years of great coffee, my machine is only making a 1/4 cup or so. All parts are clean. I'm guessing something on the circuit board that the dial is attached to....thanks!

Resover leaking

The easy fix for leaking under the machine is check to see if the drain is clogged. Open the front and remove the brew unit. You will see a small hole that will drain the excess into the Plastic tray. Usualy I find Coffee grounds clogging the drain hole. Use Pipe Cleaner , Q-Tip to clear the drain hole. you can also wipe out from the other side with paper towel or Q-tips. once the clog is clear. Flush our with water.

Limited water output (saeco vienna superautomatica model year 04)

Could be 3 things. Pump, flow meter, or clogged boiler. Pump is a standard ulka pump, flow meters are bought only from saeco as well as boilers. If i had to guess.... If its a vienna black than i'd point to the flowmeter. If you get pressurized water out of the steam wand than its either the flow meter or the boiler. Pointing more towards the flow meter (u shaped white plastic part with in and out tubes.

Trouble with Saeco Vienna Deluxe

Could be the pump gone bad or the flow meter.

Neither is easy to replace. Needs to be brought in for fixing.

Saeco Vienna: water does not go through to the main unit

I had the same problem and got on the Saeco US website and talked to an online support person. She downloaded me a couple of pages of "fixes", I tried them and they worked! You have to take the two screws out of the brew group, remove the spring and a little clear plastic ball. Then clean out the hole thoroughly. I stuck a toothpick up into it from underneath to clean out the coffee that was stuck in the hole. I then put it back together and now it works perfectly.
