Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Arcade
I had this same problem and while I eventually got it to work again by simply changing a cable, it came back and will not go away. Yahoo covered this problem on their front page at the end of March and apparently this is the "new RRoD" and may be caused by the NXE update. However, unless you are under the original manufacturers warranty or an extended warranty of some sort you will need to send it to Microsoft for repairs. However it will cost at least $99 USD for this if you set up the repair through the website and $119 if you use their toll free number and operator assistance.

AV cable error. There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable, in rare cases it is the GPU
