Re: RCA 46" (maybe) Monitor Broken What do I do?
If you registered the set with RCA you shouldnt need the reciept just call RCA and explain the problem and they can set you up with an authorized warranty repair center in your area. Heres the number for RCA support you will need your serial number handy when you call its located on the back with the model number.

I ALSO HAVE A 52 INCH RCA (2 YEARS OLD) I HAVE TRIED ALL OF THE TIPS THAT HAVE BEEN DISCUSSED. LUCKILY I PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS UNIT.. AFTER A MONTH OF OVER THE PHONE TROUBLE SHOOTING FROM WARRANTY REPAIR CENTER THIS INCLUDED REMOVING THE BATTERIES IN CASE THE REMOTE WAS BAD. THEY FINALLY CAME AFTER IT YESTERDAY. THE PICKUP BOYS SAID THAT THEY ARE HAVING A LOT OF TROUBLE WITH THESE UNITS DOING THIS SAME THING. THEY ALSO SAID THAT SOME WERE BEING REPLACED WITH NEW ONES. NOT SURE IF RCA OR WARRANTY IS REPLACING (MINE WAS PURCHASED FROM BESTBUY WITH BEST BUY WARRANTY). IF ANYONE HAS SPOKEN TO ANYONE ABOUT A REPLACEMENT PLEASE RESPOND. I THINK IF THERE ARE SOME UNITS BEING REPLACED WITH NEW ONES WE ARE MORE THAN LIKELY GETTING THE SAME DEFECTIVE UNITS (WHICH WILL MORE THAN LIKELY WORK UNTIL OUT OF WARRANTY). I WISH THEY WOULD JUST GIVE REFUNDS OR CERTIFICATES TOWARDS NEW DIFFERENT UNITS MAYBE IF THERE WERE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS THIS MIGHT BE CONSIDERED.
Yes the diagnosis by a technician is needed because we cannot jump to conclusions before to see the part needed to change maybe is not a expensive repair. To save the kid head is simple. The tv has to turn on by itself i mean to power on the tv it doesn't need the game or DVD or anything, tv has to show alive a soon as you power on.
More than likely it has bad solder connections on the circuit board. You could try tapping lightly on power supply/deflection boards to see if it makes contact. Usually I find bad solder on those right under where the power cord plugs in, on the bottom of the board. If you have a soldering iron and solder you could save a few hundred dollars in repair costs, but use caution and make sure all power to set is disconnected. Maybe mark each plug as you disconnect them. Hope this helps. Good luck, Russmann.
It is normal for a rear projection TV or monitor to
slowly drift slightly out of convergence as the CRTs age. If any sudden drastic change has happened then there has been a component failure on the convergence board. Usually it's the large ICs and maybe some caps and low wattage resistors as well.
Could be any of many things. A professional service person has the equipment and know how to check for bad parts, and usualy also some spare parts lying around to replace and check for change.
Most common fix is replacing some of the STK chips, which aren't very expensive, but it could be the convergence board itself, or the CRT fluid.
In short, kicking it wont help, playing with the menus either.
This is going to cost you... consult a Repair person and get an estimate for the repair.
