Re: Wattage rating for Kirby Ultimate G
Http://geeksquad.fixya.com/ThreadView.aspx?prdid=11557&thid=609384 Wattage rating for Kirby Ultimate G Posted by avhawaii on May 19, 2008 Does anyone know what the wattage is on a Kirby Ultimate G? I'm moving to the UK and need to know what size transformer to buy! Thanks Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. My suggestion is that you contact the Kirby Co in Cleveland listed below and they will instruct you on the wattage and also what you need for a transformer, or look underneath the vacuum and there should be a sticker stating the amps and maybe the watts, but also the information may be in the owner’s manual or they will mail one out to you, there might be a local Kirby dealer in your area that might have a manual as well. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. http://kirby.com/Customer Service – United States & Canada1-800-494-8586 Hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (EST)U.S. & Canada Fax # 1 (216) 529-6146 Mail To: Consumer Relations The Kirby Company 1920 West 114 Street Cleveland, OH44102 Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead. All domestic appliances have a rating plate which informs you of the voltage, wattage and energy rating. Its the wattage that will give you a rough theoretical idea of the power but in reality it only applies to the power consumption of the item not its actual sucking/pick-up rate.
Here's an easy to understand and follow video review on how to attach the carpet shampooer
to the Kirby Generation vacuum cleaners. The model that's being used in this
video is a little newer model, the Sentria, but the procedure to attach
the carpet cleaning attachment is the same exact repair on the Sentria
as it is on your Kirby Ultimate G.
that helped, please be kind and rate the video as helpful by clicking
on the Thumbs Up Icon below. If you have any questions about how to
install it, please just request a repair clarification and I'll be more
then happy to help you.

The conversion of Amps to Watts is governed by the equation Watts = Amps x Volts
For example 1 amp @ 110 volts = 110 watts your case 7 amp @ 120 volts = 840 watts unless you are running it at 230v but I don't think you can I would look for one rated for Volt-Amps instead of watts It's best to round up to be safe add 40 - 60 watts
Could be a number of differant things really. Just check that the both the safety switches are being activated but other than that it will need to go to a repair center.
Unfortunately Kirby don't seem to support their Australian customers at all, sorry.
(best they offered was a phone number of a dealer in Capetown)
If you have a friend in the US who could send it on to you then you could get a manual here;
Unfortunately they wont ship direct to Oz.
Same deal here, if you have a contact in the UK;
They even offer the video as well,
If you can post back with your general area, I could find you a nearby dealer that sells the ultimate G where you might be able to get some help.
Hope this can help you out, if not please post back with your location :)
