Question about Digi-Tech DOD-Digitech 231 - 31 Band Per Side Equalizer Home Equalizer

1 Answer

How can I make this sound great.

I have bought some DJ equipments i.e.- amps, equalisers a crossover and subwoofers. How do I connect the crossover to the mixer, equaliser and amps in order to separate the treble from the PA speakers and the subwoofer since I have two separate amps. Please help as I really don't want to blow up any more speakers. I have also noticed that as a result of continious try and error, the sound from two of PA speakers has lost its treble.

Line out from mixer------to crossover in---------crossover out-------to amplifier line in-----------from amplifier out--------to loud speaker.
---from low output(low frequency)of crossover-----to line in in subwoofer.(mixer is ordinary mixer not powered mixer- and in case of powered mixer take care it is line out(0db---to4db)not amplifier out which you connect it to loudspeakers.

How can i set up a car subwoofer with my dj set

You would connect it to an amp that is connected to your mixer or preamp. Not sure if it would sound good or not as car audio is definitely different than event audio. It is worth a try though

I need help setting-up my sound system with following equipment listed below:

Wow....what you have here is a total system design. I really feel you need to get a professional in your area to help you out. There has to be a buddy of yours that knows enough to help out. There are just way too many variables in this that are unanswered. Amp channels, amp output, speaker impedance, other equipment needing balanced or unbalanced, type of jacks, stereo/mono, length of runs, power requirements. It would take me hours to look up the specs of your equip, a couple hours to design and hours of questions back and forth. At best if you let me know where you are I may be able to set you up with someone local to your area.

Can i put an extra sub woofer on my lg da3525 via the woofer out socket and what plug do i require to do this

Hi,

How to Connect 2 Subwoofers to One Receiver

Subwoofers produce the deep bass sounds that give home theater the realism of being at the movies. A good subwoofer can rattle the walls during action sequences, while adding depth to recorded music and a heightened sense of feeling in the midst of a televised sporting event. Because most home theater receivers are equipped with a single subwoofer jack, connecting a second subwoofer requires a simple audio adapter available at electronics stores. Self-powered subwoofers have their own built-in amplifiers to drive the bass speakers, so they cannot drain power on the main receiver in a system and thus pose no danger to the equipment, even when an extra subwoofer is connected.

Things You'll Need:

Home theater receiver
Y-adapter with RCA jacks on two ends and an RCA plug on the other, available at electronics stores.
2 RCA subwoofer cables
2 subwoofers

Instructions

Plug the Y-adapter into the home theater receiver's "Subwoofer OUT" jack.

Connect an RCA subwoofer cable to each jack on the Y adapter and route the cables to the subwoofers in the room. Because subwoofers deliver an omnidirectional sound, the boxes can be placed anywhere they won't get in the way, but within reach of an electrical outlet..

Plug an RCA cable into the "Sub IN" jack on the back of each subwoofer.

Connect the subwoofers to wall outlets and turn on each unit by pressing the power button, typically located on the back panel.

Adjust the volume and crossover settings on each subwoofer as desired. The crossover adjustment knob tells the subwppfer which low-end frequencies to reproduce from the audio signal, such as a movie on DVD. All frequencies higher than the crossover setting will be transferred to the other speakers connected to the receiver.

Tips & Warnings

Use subwoofers that are closely matched in power, as rated in watts, when using two subwoofers in a home theater setup.

Disconnect the subwoofers from the power supply while making the audio connections.

How to connect my realistic 7 bands equalizer to my amps .

Since you have not mentioned the amplifier I am not aware if the amp does have an preamp input and output. In case you have these then the output of the preamp of the main amp must be connected to the input of the equaliser and the output of the equaliser must go to the input of the main amplifier. The sources can be connected to the amplifer according to the selected device. If your amp does not have the preamp input/output then connect the source to the input of the equaliser and the output of the equaliser to the aux of the main amplifier. Now set your amp's bass and treble to mid point and set yout equaliser accordingly. Hope this helps. Good day

Can I hook up 2 separate power amps to PMP3000? I

Better way... Connect the main speakers via the Speakons and then put a Power Subwoofer to one of the Monitor connections IF you are not using both stage monitors. If you need to kill the lows to the mains, use the EQ in the PMP-3000.

Use the EQ that is USUALLY on the subwoofer to kill the highs to the sub.

Lot less cables and hardware.

REMEMBER for equipment safety, power ALL interconnected equipment from the same source be it a receptacle or power distribution system.

Powering parts of a system from receptacles strewn around a room is asking for trouble of ground loops and ground faults.

Continous low level pulsing but no Base Response from JBL PSW1000

There is a huge discussion among audio enthusiast regarding subwoofer output and how you should connect your sub to your system. If sub preout is turned and on your amp/receiver and you are able to adjust the crossover frequency adjust your crossover frequency to highest setting, higher HZ number, so you don't double low pass filter your signal too much. If you can adjust crossover frequency on your receiver and your sub allows separate connection to by pass it's filter, use that instead.
There is a great article on Polk Audio website regarding Home Theater setup. You can use it as reference and tweak it to your taste.

Outputting high pitched sounds and master balance switch problem

Maybe the issue is not with your mixer. Maybe its with one of the units you connect to the mixer. Does this happen in all the channels?

If the service company could not duplicate the problem, then the problem might be somewhere else. Double check and replace your cables going to your amp, as well as the cables coming from your CD players and such.
