After working well for a year and a half, my mouse suddenly will not move the pointer around on the screen. The system says it is working properly, but the pointer will not move.

Replace the 2 AA batteries in the mouse and then Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
Hope this helps you. Bud

Is my Logitech wireless mouse defective?

A number of times, I had the USB transceiver go defective after a bit more than a year. First make sure the mouse batteries are in good condition. If so, I would try the transceiver. I ordered about six of them from Logitech. I have a number of computers using these. After having two fail I decided to have spares all the time.

The mouse appears to be on but the pointer on the screen does not move. The keyboard is still working. The re-set button does not correct the problem. Re-booting the computer does not work.

The same thing happened to me today. Somehow, something uninstalled my setpoint mouse software?!?!
While I was actually using the mouse?!?!
(it just stopped moving all of a sudden)

Don't ask me how/why this happened but I fixed it by unplugging the MX1000--both power and usb connection, plugging in an old serial mouse, rebooting the computer, opening mouse properties, going to the Mouse settings (in Control Panel), clicking the Setpoint tab, telling it to look for an update to the Setpoint program, letting it download and install the program automatically, then unplugging the old serial mouse, plugging in the MX1000 (usb first, them Power) and Voila'! Working as it should once again, even without a reboot. :o)
I love this mouse--perfect size, fast, programmable, accurate, long battery life, Perfect!

The mouse does not work

Change the batteries. If still a problem, try the mouse on another workstation. If it still doesn't work, it will confirm that the mouse or USB receiver is faulty.

Mouse Is Recongnized but wont Move

On the bottom of the mouse is a little tiny button that say: connect or reconnect. Place the mouse close to the transmitter dongle (the do hicky comes out of a USB) and look for that button on the transmitter and the mouse to reconnect the signal.
(batteries are good ?)

Wireless keyboard and optical mouse

Thanks! I fixed the problem by installing a USB mouse and using fn+f9. That unlocked the mouse so I could use the pointer leaving just the keyboard problem. I then tried reconnecting the wireless keyboard (by using the button on the receiver and under the keyboard) Hey Presto!!
