Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have PHILIPS 42pfl5332d/37. I was watching tv, and suddenly the screen goes blank. There's a blue light that turns on when the tv's on, however when the screen went blank, that blue light turned orange and kept blinking. I tried unplugging it, but it did not work. the tv also stopped responding to the control. what do i do?

I also have the PHILIPS 42PFL5332D/37. After roughly two hours of on-time, it turns itself off. I haven't paid attention to the indicator light; I just turn it back on. There's also clicking noise that comes from the back of the set sometimes- I think it's mostly when it is shutting down. I assume the noise is from the power transformer cooling off, but don't know.

I've tried to see if there's a timer set that shuts it down, but have found nothing. I'm considering getting the $170/yr warranty. Any body else experiencing this?

I had the exact same problem. I paid for the TV tech to check and he said he needs to replace the main unit (where is the RCA connectors). The cost is approx. $550 (parts and labor).

My TV was working and then all of the sudden the screen went blank and now there is a flashing red light that appears. I tried to turn everything off and back on (the universal solution to everything) but...

Hello

There is something confusing the system control of your TV and it should me resetted. To reset it, just switch OFF your TV with its front panel power control switch, and after that, unplug the TV from the wall socket. Wait for about 5 minutes or so, and the plug it and switch It ON. If this does not work for the first time, give some more time to reset, say about an hour or so, and try. OK.

This all depends on what you want to do. watch TV, play games , watch dvd's... there is no region code associated with the TV, but you might want to check if your TV supports pal and ntsc.

Tv is blank when turned on

Do you have a green light that flashes and then goes off? You need instalation kit# 4835 310 57673, The chassis# is probably an L04.1U AA, correct? What you will do is correct the horizontal timing so everything will come on at the same time. After you install you will see red, blue, and green horizontal lines at the top of your screen.......this is normal when you power up your TV. This is a factory authorized repair.

Problem, please help

The unit should be under warranty. What you're describing is not normal and I would attempt to get a replacement from the place of purchase or take the unit to an authorized repair center. Below is the Philips support page for your unit. You can check warranty status as well as request repair.
