Yes you can.
If you have a newish Tv connect straight to the hdmi port(left hand side opposite Fn key)
Or on older tv try the s video (yellow Next to hdmi port)
speaker cable will have to go into head phone slot (below mouse pad)

But I seriously think that this laptop is under powered to do this.

Problems with Philips vhs recorder/dvd player

You only need coaxial cable to pick up TV stations broadcast via an aerial. If your TV has sockets to connect via HDMI or SCART, then any players can be connected via them. So if the adapter box picks up TV signals, you connect the main aerial cable to that and it should have a coaxial out socket, that should be connected to the aerial in of your TV. If you are recording to an analogue video from the adapter box, then that will need to be connected via a scart socket or other connection.

We have a Philips DVD3460 recorder. Where in the manual does it inform us on while Watching T.V. and DVD is recording another T.V. channel?. Would love to know " how to do this"?

It depends on your setup.
Think of the Philips DVD3460 as an independent, standalone television set. It has its own analogue tuner, and its own video input.
If you have an analogue RF TV signal (coaxial cable) going in to the Philips DVD3460, you can watch whatever you want on any other TV connected to the TV signal coaxial cable, since the regular analog TV cable carries all of the channels.
However, if you are using a cable or satellite box and use the "Video in" function of the DVD recorder or just have the DVD recorder tuned to channel 3 or 4 to record from a cable or satellite box, you can't record one channel and watch another unless you have a second cable box..

I have an ultra-slim 29 TV. I want to connect it to my laptop so that I can get laptop's output through TV along with sound. Please note i do not want to watch TV on my laptop (thats vice versa).

the picture is easy either a HDMI cord or a regular computer monitor cord should be able to connect depending on your laptops connections.

As far as the sound you will need an adaptor to go from a 3.5 mm headphone jack on your computer to a red and white RCA jack like on a dvd player and plug into your tv

Watch tv properly with JVC DVD off

Some philips tv's have a built in aerial amplifier, perhaps if you bought a digital aerial booster it will improve the picture quality.

Unable 2 watch dishtv in Benq LCD SD3731 with DVD cbl plugged in

The S_Video connection has precedence (most likely named AV1) over the RCA/composite one (better image quality - usually named AV2) so it will be automatically selected. If you want to view thru AV2 input you will have to select it manually every time you want it.

Connecting samsung dvd to Philips 47PFL6704D LCD TV

Hook up your cables from your DVD player to these input on the back of your TV. 6131e0b.jpg The group of ports should be labeled as video 1 input. Use the Yellow, Red and White on the back of both DVD Player and TV. Then, change the input on the TV remote to input or video 1 to watch the DVD Player.

Philips 42PF9946 connect with laptop

Connect to the VGA port on the laptop, using a standard video cable.

Here is how VGA port looks like on your TV:

Note on some laptop you need to activate external video output by pressing a combination of keys, this will swap between laptop LCD video and external video.
