  • k2009 Dec 11, 2008

I have the same problem. Had the t.v. for over two years need the parts for power panel. Going to cost me 400.00 to fix what a bunch of ****. It is a good buy, but now I have to pay 400.00 to fix. Lesson learned either buy a name brand or get the warnty. I get no help from customer service at SOYO so I will probably never support them again in the future. Was getting ready to buy another one this year for Christmas for my room, but now way now with the shity customer service.

I have the same problem bought TV and it lasted at couple of days. Had it repaired for $150.00 but you would not believe it lasted two days and went out again. Only good thing for me is that i bought it with credit card and cancelled the transaction and called them. So i got the **** for free.

Oh my God. I just finished talking to the rep mentioned below. She was nasty. I've been waiting since July cause they don't even have the part in stock since then. I will almost quote this person: "Okay Mam, I don't have to listen to your complaints, your only option here is to keep waiting and I really don't know when the part is going to be back in stock or even if it is going to be in stock again. There is nothing else we can do for you". So what do you think. I paid for a one-year lasting tv and a quote for repair. I was even willing to pay for the part and the excessive shipping charge to get it, but they don't have it. I can't believe there is nothing we can do about this.

This is the "so gentle" lady's information. One thing I know, I will never buy a Soyo again, and will persuade anyone wanting to buy one against it.

A class action suit is a good suggestion I bought two TVs from SHOP AT HOME NETWORK,LLC
800-359-1515 each sold for $868.98 which included shipping and they sold thousands.
If there is a lawyer out there who wants to handle this please do so on behalf of all the owners
of this model no. DYLT032D 32" LCD SOYO with the same problems.

I had the exact same thing happen with this exact same model. It had only been turned on a handful of times. Shame on SOYO. I also bought it at Sams club and they did nothing to help me out either. How can manufactures get away with this?

Customer support is not much help, but they did say that it sounded like either the power supply ($150) or the inverter on the screen ($450) could be defective. They say they'd be happy to sell me the parts if I needed them if I called the RMA dept 909.292.2513. Someone around here also suggested all getting together for a class action suit since this seems to happen to a ton of people with this model. I'll definitely be looking into that as well.

Long story short:
Had the same problem with my Soyo.
Thought it was the power supply board problem that everyone else was reporting.
ordered one.  Plugged it in.  Did not work.
Inspected the Main/Logic board and found what looked like a black button that could be depressed.  It is located to the right of main processor on the board.  You can't really miss it.
With the TV plugged in, I pressed the suspect button.  The TV made a buzzing/clicking noise for a few moments and the stuck blue illuminated power button faded away.
Curious by this, I pressed the power button and low and behold the TV comes to life!
Looks like I found a "reset" button which seems to have fixed my problem.
Thanks Soyo for not bothering to mention that such a button exists.
I hope the rest of you have the same good luck.  In the event you are still in need of a power supply board, email me.  I have a spare now it seems.  ;)

It might be the power supply board. There is a repair service which addresses any problem with the power supply board, not just bad capacitors: http://www.coppelltvrepair.com/p/783/soyo-mt-sytpt3227ab-power-supply-board-repair-service-no-power-shutdown-etc
