I have the same problem(bought used and untested) and took my camera apart, cleaning every part with a small artist paintbrush dabbed in a lubricating fluid(wd40 or Q20) including circuitboard&ribbon cables etc with no joy.I am using a new 2gb memory card and untill i decide to spend on a 64 or 128mb card to see if its the size of the card causing the error i wont know. The camera works without a card on usb mode and connected to a tv input.

Hi there

You can only use a maximum of 1gb memory card as i had the same problem with a used camera i bought and the instruction manual does not mention this anywhere.I use a 512mb card and the camera works okay. For the price, pretty impressive really.

How do you down load pictures from your camera?

The best way to download pictures and videos from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures and videos from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo/video cataloging program.

My Mustek dv-3500 doesn't take a 1 gb or 2 gb sd card?

If the camera will accept a 1GB card you'll be happy to know it will hold a ton of images (verses your 128MB). Yes - you would format the SD card in your camera. You should find the instructions in your manual or poking around in the menu.

You may have a memory card larger than 1gb which is the max you can use, over 1gb freezes the device when switched on causing your problem.
