I have 46" version and one day it won't turn on. It actually happened before then magically it started working again. Couple of days ago, it went dead again ... so far no magic turning-on

I have the Sony Bravia mentioned above. I tried to turn it on and nothing happened. I have only had it a little over a year. Is there a common problem with the power supply???? Any help would be appreciated.

my tv would be on for hours then go off and come back on. then one day just quit working. is it in the power supply(G2) board?

KLV-32/40U100M (Dead, no lights), Solution, either replace or remove U24 uP reset chip on top of board, by (SW-1) silkscreen, I suspect, this is the common failure with dead units. Recommend
replacing U24, but should work fine without it. Why pay more!

I noticed "cheapfix" copied my solution in a matter of an hour after I posted it! At least you should give credit to the person that found the problem!

    To "The Snake" and "Cheapfix101":

I did the troubleshooting hard work and posted the repair for this problem on multiple websites, as well as here some time ago. (I am "Roundabout" on Techlore and Amazon, as well as other sites). Cheapfix101 copied my fix within an hour of my posting it on Techlore, even going so far as to copy much of my exact words.

Don't post repairs for problems you didn't do any work for, it's not honest. At least give credit where credit is due, to be fair. I spent a lot of hours to troublehoot this issue down to component level and I shared it with the world. Many people have written and thanked me for this. It is irritating when others try to claim credit for your hard work...you wouldn't like it either if I did this to a fix you found.

Hello John:

You will have to take the Tv to a repair shop and they may have to rplace the small signal board.

Switch off the TV from remote, then switch off the on/off button on the TV, remove the plug pin from the power outlet. Cool off for 48 hours and then retry. If nothing works, better refer it to a qualified service technician.

ESA 42' plasma turned off on it's own and won't turn back on.

I think, when a power supply's time is up, it's up now. There is not usually any advance warning,(besides your warranty has expired of course). If you are feeling un-normal heat from the TV, that is a sign the power board just fried out. They always get very hot, from the microchips cooking themselves until there is nothing left to need power. Plan on paying a TV tech to replace your power board.

Freeze up

Most likely it's your memory ic (eprom). Sometimes depending on the make, an authorized service center can flash the eprom back to normal. This is something you can not do but I hope this helps a little.

Have you had a look at the cords? Is there any damage to the hardware itself? Maybe there is something else wrong. Tried running virus scans? I know it's a long shot but it's amazing at what viruses do to your machine.
