That is normal operation for Motorola Slvr L7 phones, don't be alarmed. The Motorola Slvr L7 has a built-in light sensor that disables the keypad light once light is detected by the sensor, if it doesn't detect any light, the keypad light automatically comes on.

The light sensor is located on the top of the phone next to the clip that releases the cover at the back. To test the light sensitivity, you can try blocking the light sensor with your finger and touch the keypad to see how it functions. You can also place the phone in a dark place and touch the keypad, the lights should come on, put the phone where there is sufficient light and press the keypad, it should not come on.

Try it and see how it works! It's a feature of the phone, no big issue here! Probably to conserve on battery life, you wouldn't want the keypad light on when the place is bright. I think it's a great feature.

It is the problem of your ribbon flex that is connector..
If you have not a good hand you cant do it. Take it to a Motorola Repair Center.

I'm sure the phone will be full functional again.

My blackberry curve starting texting weird, i pressed 1 letter in a text and that letter plus 5 other letters would appear, til i got to the point i couldnt text at all. now its just went to screensaver...

Hi
seems like you have a problem with the keypad. may be a water damage or moisture damge keypad near the track pad. thats make your keypad malfunctioning and it just keep sensing like you keep pressing a key while even if you are not using your phone. you can try remove your battery and put in a bowl of rice for 1 day or you can try drying your phone with air dryer. if its still the same issue then you may have to clean your keypad contact. thanks.

My blitz doesnt text

Try this. Touch Keypad simulates a wireless phone keypad on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols just as if you were using a wireless phone keypad. Touch Keyboard simulates a 20-key QWERTY (typewriter) keyboard on the touch screen to allow you to enter text, numbers, and symbols similar to the way you would using a QWERTY keyboard. To use Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard:  In a program, tap the Input Selector arrow, and then tap Touch Keypad or Touch Keyboard. To type lowercase letters, tap the keys on the dial pad or keyboard. To type a single uppercase letter, tap the Shift key and then tap the corresponding key. To type all uppercase letters, tap the Shift key twice. To change back to all lowercase letters, tap again. To enter a space after the word, tap the Space key. To start a new line, tap the Enter key. To backspace and delete a single character in any input mode, press the Back key. To open the Symbol pad, tap the Symbol key. To change the input mode:  Tap the Input mode key to switch to a different input mode: XT9 (predictive), Multitap (abc), or Numeric (123).

Hope this helps, let me know if this works or if I can help you with anything else.

Doesn't turn on, Red light blinks 6x

Make sure the battery is fully charged! And make sure, too the problem is not come from Power IC problem! then your problem is security damage and called GDFS in sony ericsson. For repair this you must make test point or buy LOG to write GDFS again. No need box or any equipments just usb cable.

Key Pad Light

Keypad light is turned on and off by sensing whether you are in light or in dark.
The phone turns off the keypad light when you are in sufficient light conditions.

Phone will not turn on

hi you say the key pad lights up but does it light up after a couple of minutes like when you press a key if this is the case and the keypad is functional and lights up when you press keypad if this is the case then the chances are that the screen hasnt been fitted properly.
did you purchase phone from shop or somewhere else if its new cant you exchange it the chances are if you didnt buy from reputible deler then the chances are they sold you a phone that should have never gone on sale.
As i used to work in a major mobile phone producer the phones are all tested before being shipped out.
The chances are the screen needs removing and replacing this is difficult to do yourself as the screws need to be undone in certain order and the same back together if not you can warp the board and destroy the phone completely.
if you want to try this yourself use a good search engine and look for the instructions on how to take phone apart but you need to earth yourslef out before doing this as the static in your bady can blow the chips on the board it is best left to a pro if you are unsure hope this is some help let me nkow what you want to do
