Question about Celestron NexStar 11 GPS (660 x 279mm) Telescope
Bought this scope in May of 2002, has always worked like a charm, last night I set it up for the first time this year. it wasn't quite dark yet but turned it on and pressed gps align and it started leveling itself and slewing towards north. once it got to north it emediately started slewing for the first alignment star [Cappella] couldn't see the star yet to align in the telrad before centering in eyepiece so I was satisfied and turned it off to wait until dark. when it got dark I proceeded turning it on, pressing on gps alignment it before it gets to north it stops in its track. I tried several times and all attempts kept stopping for before it got to north to even begin slewing to alignment star.. any ideas as far as trouble shooting this? thanks for any feedback....... chuck
Be sure that the Azimuth Axis is Lock, you migth want to try and move the telescope in the Azimuth to make sure it is it is locked. Be carful not to force it. I have seen on some post where the locking part of the Azimuth somtimes breaks. and the Azimuth Axis will just spin freely Locked down or not.
