Saeco 8 cup coffee maker with ceramic pot
a weird problem. Every so often, our ceramic pot leaks. The coffee brews ok, goes through the center hole in the carafe lid and then starts to leak along the outside of the lid. It looks like as if there is a pressure build-up inside the carafe which forces the coffee out while brewing. It's not caused by overfilling as the leakage starts half-way during the brewing cycle and if the maker is not turned off immediately, about half the contents of the carafe leak out.
This is the second saeco venus we got from starbucks, the first one had the same problem. ANY ANSWERS?

-   I come back into the kitchen with coffee spilling all over the counter top. This is the 2nd pot---1st one was replaced via mail order from Saeco. I'm about
to return the entire device to Starbucks, but I can't find the receipt. Any suggestions?

-   We got the first one replace which worked for a while but has started up with the leaking during brew cycle out from the lid. A temp solution is to press down the lever that you would push to pour the coffee. That allows most of the coffee to go back into the pot. Sometimes we'll stand next to the pot while it brews to make sure we can push that in during the brew cycle and get our coffee (with less mess).
But even when we returned it, the people at Starbucks said, "Huh, never heard of this problem. Here's another one."
Sheesh.
