Well i had this problem and it gave me a really big headache trying unistalling and reinstalling and reseting me zune but nothing worked, So i called up zune support and they gave me a workaround that worked. ill try to explain the best i can since it was a while ago when i fixed that problem.
first go into internet explorer and click on tools tab then on the internet options tab and click on the delete option that says temp files, history ect, then click on the delete all option and apply and hit ok.
Now go into my computer and click on the orgainze tab and then on the folder and serch option and then on the view tab with in that option. Now check the box that says show hidden files and folders and then uncheck the box that says hide protected operating system files(recommended).
and apply and ok then close out everything. Ok then next we go into my computer again and open up your local disk c or what it may be(hard drive). open up program data folder the open up microsoft folder and look for the DRM folder but dont open it. You need to rename that folder to DRMbackup and accept the changes when open up internet explorer gain and go to ZUNE.NET i think you can do it without signing in but you may have to but if it dont work. look for the long rectangular serch box to the right and type in thses numbers 929642 tthen click on the first RED error code link and then an error code page should load up and scroll down to a microsoft link and click onto it and go there and run that update. or try this link then after that close everything out and relog back into zunemarket place and all downloads should work if you followed my instructions. Worked for me. and i was about to put my zune up on ebay and get an Ipod. but glad i called and got a tech support agent that speaked english and knew how to fix the problem, GOOD LUCK

I SAW THIS ON a help forum it worked brilliantly!!!!

I tried doing a clean reinstall of the Zune Software

I tried updating the DRM software

and both did not work.

I called Zune support and they sent me to that downloaded an executable file named "ResetDRM" I ran the executable and it spit out a text file that said the DRM was successfully reset. I restarted my Zune software and it worked fine, an almost instant fix.

I have the same problem - checked with MS, and my subscription is up to date. Reinstalled thye s/w, etc. etc.

I've had it..and will cancel my subscription if MS doesn't fix this.

What does iTunes have to do with his question?

The problem is a media rights usage error, and is apparantly quite common recently; I have the same problem, and there are a number of (unsolved) posts of it on the Zune boards. Most suggestions focus on deleting your DRM folder, resinstalling Zune (potentially with an older version...) and rolling back SP3 if you use XP. However none of those have proven to solve my problem.

I would just make sure that the songs are in the correct format specified with the specs - if it says it cannot take AAC format, for instance, then it will not load iTunes songs. also, make sure the license on the songs are up to date. If they are not, just convert the songs to Mp3 using Media Monkey or some other Mp3 converter.

I download songs onto my computer that I want to ...

I'm assuming you have the Zune software installed. You'll need the software in order to interact with the Zune device, it does not work as a "mass-storage device" like some other media players.
The Zune software will find all your music. Open the software and on the top left make sure you're in the "Collection" and then "Music" category. Then click on the right hand side on the "Songs" tab. You'll see all your songs on your computer. Connect the Zune and wait a few seconds and in the bottom left hand corner of the software you'll see your device connected.
Click on one of the songs and then press "CTRL + A" and all of your songs will be selected. Click and hold and then drag one of the songs to the little icon of your Zune in the bottom left and then all of your music will sync to the device.
Hope this helps.

Problem with intalling zune's software

Uninstall all zune software and download and install it again. Possibly a bad download.

Or run error check on your computer then try it again.

Go to my computer, right-click on C: - go to properties- then go to TOOLS tab. Click on Error check - make sure you have both boxe(s) checked to fix errors as they are found then hit start. You will have to restart your computer for this check to happen. Usually takes a a few hours, but recommended to do at least once every few months.

Hope this helps!
