Green Spots I have what looks to be green magnet spots on the screen, I thought with a projection I couldn't get that.  Any ideas, and solutions?

    I also have the green spots on my 2004 TV, was told my Sony that it may or may not be covered, but they were willing to send out a service technician to find out. The service bulletin states blue spots, so we will see if the technician thinks the spots 'could' be blue.

It's probably the famous optical block problem. I had the same problem, mine were blue, but looked like magnet spots too.

TV issue

There are many causes for spots on top of an LCD rear projection tv, you are probably in the first two cases, both require part replacements and repair job.

If the spots are faint blue, green or pink shadows, then it can be a problem with the anti polarization panel placed on top of the LCD.

Similar spots (colored shadows) may be caused by a problem with the light engine, in that case the fix will be expensive.

If the spots are bright lights, like an aura, that is a problem with the color wheel.

Problems on the light tunnel can cause static gray shadows.

If the spots are static dark stains than that is lcd liquid, the LCD panel must be replaced.

Green spots

Good Day;

It sounds like the TV has foreign objects on the tubes, lenses or inner-screen, such as dust or bugs.l Remove screen from the front and observe.

If it were a TV problem the spots would be near the center of the picture.

Good Luck.

Nephew used a magnet and put on the screen and made the screen purple and green spots what can I do.

If this is a direct ciew television and not a projection the tv should be back to normal after a few dozen off and on cycles as the TVs degausing coils should correct the issues.

I had a similar problem and brought it in to a technician for a quote of $860 to fix. The problem - speck of dust on the optics. If it weren't under warranty I would take it apart and blow off the dust myself.
