Canon Fax L100 - toner required even though not empty

Hi,
on our canon fax L100 it is requesting new toner; even though we've just recently changed the toner.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
CT

    Hi,

I had the same problem as you, I know this is a very late post but I actually got the fax machine to stop display the message "No Toner Cartridge Put in Cartridge"

I spoke to Canon Technical support and recommended me to have an engineer turn up on site, or to try the steps given below.

    1. Take Paper out of tray
    2. Lift the toner bay lid, and take the toner out of fax machine
    3. Disconnect the power for 1 minute
    4. Connect the power cable to the fax machine
    5. Wait for the fax machine to power on (will see message drum lost)
    6. Insert toner cartridge
    7. Insert paper

This process actually worked and has resolved my problem.

Hopes this works for anyone else who tries this method!

Out of Toner / Change Toner - Canon image CLASS MF4370dn

The percentage-of-available-toner is based on calculations made by the printer's internal software -- quite different from putting a measuring-stick into an above-ground oil-tank to determine the ACTUAL level.

So, while the calculations say "zero percent left", there still is some toner inside the toner-cartridge, and so it still prints.

Buy a replacement cartridge. When you finally do run-out of toner, install the new cartridge.

Compare it to buying a new quart of milk, and then using the last 1/8 of the quart of the milk currently inside your refrigerator -- use the "old" milk until it is 100% gone, and then switch to the "new" milk.

Canon i-sensys fax-L100

The machine keeps in memory only reports of faxes sent or received until the page is full. When the report page is full, the earliest fax is removed to make way for the most recent. Therefore if you sent enough faxes after 4 Apr 08 to fill a page, there will be no record.

First, before the new cartridge is installed, was the Silk tab pulled out to make the toner accessible?

Are the tabs fully seated when the Toner cart is installed?
