Flyback transformers rank about a 5 or 6 on dificult to repace.. depending on the model of tv that you are working with.. the rca itc222 can be difficult.. dependend on your soldering experences. To replace this one you have to pull the chassis tray up and out to get to the bottom... unsolder the pins ussally a vacum desoldering tool is required because it is important to remove all solder from the pins..then gently pry the clips that hold it on the board... this is where you can mess up unless the pins have be completly solder free you can crack the board... NOW the hard part... removing the wire from the flyback.. if the flyback is the type that the wire comes out. the wires will eather have a clip around the large wire or you will have to go to the other end of wire and pull it out from the splitter. eather way this wire is firmly in an will require gently but extremmly firm pulling to get out.

TV HARD TO TURN ON POWER KIGHT TURNS ON AND OFF THREE TIMES THEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT THEN PUSH BUTTON AGAIN

Check circuit board with the flyback transformer(the transformer has a thick red wire connected to the top of it)for bulging capacitors. Capacitors are the ones that look like little cans. If you find any then replace them. Also, resolder all the points at the bottom of the flyback transformer. This should fix your problem. If not try using a blow dryer and heat up the back of your t.v. for about 5-10 minutes.

Cannot Find Flyback Transformer 60PP9202/17F

Contact Philips directly. They should be able to get you the part, even if they have to get it from another repair shops. Many repair shops purchase their parts from factory authorized distributors, not from the manufacturer. The flyback transformer powers the tube-it can be extremely dangerous to work on-EVEN with the tv off, they contain a lot of power somethjing like 50,000 to 150,00 volts. It is not fun getting shocked by one of these as many techs have been knocked unconcious by them. If you do not know the proper procedure to discharge a flyback then leave it alone!

Flyback transformer

A flyback transformer is one of the more expensive components in a projection TV. If there is no clear reason, such as a known power surge, you could well replace the flyback transformer again soon because the root problem was elsewhere.
An OEM transformer is not necessary but you might have trouble convincing an authorized factory service technician to use anything but the original manufacturer's parts.
As with many of today's electronic devices, if it is more than a year or two old, you will find the new products cheaper and with more features. The next generation of projection TVs will use lasers and scanning will be done with optically controlled micro-mirrors - no flyback transformer required.

The lead going from the flyback to that other device is a voltage divider or splitter as they're incorrectly referred to... To remove the leads press down firmly, twist and then pull up...
