Hi harrypunia_b!

Welcome to FixYa! How are you doing?

Download and install VLC Media Player, it is a Free Multimedia Player Software capable of reading most video and audio formats.

You can download it here: http://download.cnet.com/VLC-Media-Player/3000-13632_4-10267151.html

copy the above link and paste it on the address bar of your Internet Explorer.

Hope that helps. Thank you for using FixYa.

I recently installed the Real Alternative software to open AVI files, 'cause in my WM player I could only hear the sound, and I couldn't see the video, it's not a problem with all my AVI files, just a few...

Hi

There's no problem with the operating system. And please do not reinstall windows again. Its a known issue only for some types of videos even if its in the same format for example- 2 different files in AVI format ones working but the others not. This happens because some type of videos are only supported by 3rd party codecs which is not made by microsoft as windows media player is product of microsoft. Now you might also notice that the same video might be working in your friends computer or a different computer absolutely fine. Its just you would have to wait until it will download the update it self.
SOLUTION:-
Look m not a big fan of microsoft either. So do not depend on Windows media player.Simply download VLC PLAYER which is the best. Its small, plays all kinds of videos in all formats. The following is the link for the setup file of VLC PLAYER-:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/vlc/files/1.1.5/win32/vlc-1.1.5-win32.exe/download

Now njoy watching all the videos with high def and better sound than Windows media player

Hope this fixes the problem,If it doesn't please reply

Thanks & Regards

I converted an MP4 file to AVI and when i play the movie on quicktime the audio is out of sync and the movie plays like its on fast forward. i am trying to upload it on youtube and when i put it on youtube...

Hello.

Give this a try:

Download the latest version of AVI audio sync tool: YAAI_2.0.3.488.zip
from http://findfiles.com/list.php?string=YAAI_2.0.3.488.zip&db=Mirrors&match=All&search=

First of all, make a backup copy of your avi file (this is very important!).

Step 1. Unzip YAAI_2.0.3.488.zip file. Launch YAAI.exe , "Open AVI" dialog will appear.

Step 2. Find and open your AVI file.

Step 3. Click on "Sync Audio" tab. Small video player will pop up.

Step 4. Now, adjust audio delay or frame rate (FPS) using sliders or appropriate buttons.

Click Apply. Video player will start playing your file with changed settings automatically. You can adjust and apply these parameters several times to pick up necessary values for audio delay or FPS. So, try to experiment and to set appropriate audio delay or to change FPS (frames per second) settings for your avi file.

Step 5. Finally, close YAAI tool. When it asks the question: "Do you want to keep the changes?", click Yes.

Hope this helps.

AVI

  1. First, download Prism video converter. It's a freeware software to convert multiple kinds of video files. You can click the following link to start the setup.
  2. Install the software. If you want, install the other features also, but for this task just the video converter is needed.
  3. Open Prism video converter. On the upper left corner, you'll see a plus symbol for "add file".
  4. Click on this "add file". Now open the AVI file you want to convert.
  5. On the left bottom corner is written "output format". Choose WMV to convert your file into a WMV file.
  6. Click "browse". Now choose the folder where you want
