Question about Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX Personal Web Camera

Slow slow slows down my computer!!

My son just bought me the Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX. It includes Windows Messaging.

  • The box says that it is OK for Vista. I downloaded it all in - got it to work (on my end -haven't tested sending), but here's the problem: It slowed down my new computer (Vista running system) so badly that it barely runs at all.
  • So - I removed all the program and "have my computer back", but he really wants to be able to communicate with me with this camera. Can I get it to work without causing a near halt on my compter.
  • Thank you
Any chance you can e-mail me my solution?

Thank you!

Same problem with XP. Uninstalled all of the programs that come with the camera. Didin't help. Computer returned to normal after I unplugged it.

Same problem on Vista. Get a message pop up saying I should change my colour scheme. Uninstall camera and computer back to normal. Updating camera software made it worse...

my Logitech Communicate MP does same thing, freezes my computer for 10 mins if i push record on anything that'll use it. i updated the drivers and everything, it's still slowing down. and on for example facebook if wait it out it shows the 10 minutes gone by and it shows audio not being recorded when i specifically set it for webcams mic. and on AIM if i wait it out, literally works for 5 seconds then aim disconnects automatically

Normal 0 There are a number of things that can cause the computer or the camera to freeze up or slow down.
First I’d check to see how much memory is installed in the computer. It takes additional memory to operate the camera.
Hope this helps. Bud

Normal 0 How much memory is installed in your computer? The camera uses quite a bit of your memory to operate properly and would cause the poor video. Could be other
Issues, but worth checking.
Hope this helps. Bud
