Acer ax3900 on off button won't work

The two flashes could signal a bad power switch, or it could be that the power supply was dying and now is dead. If you can't troubleshoot the power supply you need to bring it in to a tech

I used a vacume to clean my computer now when i press the power on the fan spins non-stop wile a steady beep every five seconds without showing anything on my monitor

This means the machine is not making it past the POST or power on self test. This is bad. This means it could be your RAM, your processor, your video card, or something isn't properly seated or connected. Please take your computer to a professional tech who is A+ certified (try to avoid the generic best buy type fix it shops for something like this). Please never try to vacuum your computer. If it needs cleaning please, please use compressed air and blow out any dust/debris in a controlled manner. Thank you and I'm sorry I don't have better news for you.

No power to computer. Battery cable recharger led lites up

If the cable and battery are good, you will need a tech. Taking apart a laptop is a touchy thing. If you are an electrician, you have to take it apart and test the wiring...but I warn you, parts in laptops are not made to come apart and go back together many times...connections are like paint, and wear of with a few reconnections and it's easy to permanently break it.

May be your motherboard. Uninstall your ram memory units and see what it does. Their under the laptop behind small cover that you need to unscrew. If not very tech savvy, then i suggest taking it to the nearest (and chapest) computer shop for diagnostic.

My computer turns on but the screen is black

NO POWER TO THE SCREEN COULD MEAN THAT THE ONBOARD VGA IS DEAD AND YOU WILL NEED TO PUT ON A GRAPHICS CARD.

DEAD USB CAN BE TESTED ONCE SCREEN IS AVAILABLE,THAT COULD BE WHY THE USB'S HAS NO POWER.

ADVICE : TAKE IT TO A TECH SHOP FOR TESTING

Computer shutting down.

Hi tenbear8, I checked the bios date for the motherboard. I'm guessing this board came out in late 2005. Asus warrants their boards for three years. With this in mind it’s worth a call to Asus tech. Open you're case & find the white sticker on the LPT port. Write down the information there. Call Asus M-F 8:00AM to 5:00PM EDT. The number is 1-812-282-2787. You will not be on the phone very long before a tech picks up. (Free support).
The tech will want the information you wrote down from the sticker.
In the mean time update you're bios with the latest flash.
Bios number 0809, it has a fix for CPU string correction in the bios. It may just do the trick.
Click here for the link to P5VDC-MX download site.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=P5VDC-MX&SLanguage=en-us
Download the bios file & download the Bios Utilities.
Either way it will not hurt to call Asus even if the bios flash fix's the system. The more information you can get from Asus the better. (They know their boards better than anyone).
If you're board is bad Asus will know & if it’s still in warranty you're looking at receiving a replacement board. Nothing to loose & everything to gain.

Good luck tenbear8!
Please let me know how things work out with Asus.

Mike

System will not power up

Have you replaced the cmos battery(disc shaed flat 3V CR2032), although there could be more sinister problems than this as the mobo or processor may be damaged.
