Blown speaker

I do not know the manufacture but there are a lot of replacement speakers. If I was able to see the speaker i could order a reasonable replacement. You may contact Pro Line Music 215-736-8055 or servicedepartmentprolinemusic@comcast.net

Hello there i have a mackie srm 450 speaker system and im not getting any high end tweeter sounds just bass only what coule be the problem manay thanks Paulie

The most common cause of this is a blown horn. A replacement can be ordered from Mackie directly. Remove the screws that hold the plastic horn in place. At the rear of this part will be the tweeter assembly that unscrews from the horn. This needs to be replaced.

Another possibility is that the tweeter driver has broken from the horn itself and is inside the cabinet. Remove the horn and you may find that the aluminum part has broken. Replace the horn which comes with that part and you should be fine.

What is Class rated for the speaker wires?

NEC rating for speaker wire installation link : http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articles/inwallrating.htmI Interesting reading however that doesn't answer your question directly... You may have to speak with the local building/wring inspector if you are concerned about the rating. CL2 & CL3 are suitable for in wall use. If I were you, I would solicit the information from the place you purchased your wire.. they must have a direct line of communication with the supplier /manufacturer and should ba able to provide that information.

Speaker muffled and distorted

Don't know about the type of your hardware, but your description is very light. In order to further isolate the problem, I would do the following:

1. Replace the speaker with a working one. If this works fine, then it is really the speaker that is broken. If however the intact speaker shows the same problem when connected to the same channel, then the amplifier/equalizer has an issue.

If it is by this confirmed that the speaker is broken look at step 2:

2. Inside the speaker there is usually a frequency separation filter. Either the bass loudspeaker is damaged or the filter. Ideally you could exchange filter and loudspeaker with parts from a working speaker box and find out by this which component is defective.

3. Once you have identified the defective component, try to find out the brand and type and perform an internet search.

4. If you don't find anything, bring the whole thing to a repair service, they can order the spare part.

If you are too lazy or technically not very skilled, go directly to step 4.

Hope that helps

JBL Eon 15 Blown Fuse

These fuses are most likely 3 Amp fuses. Please note that if the replacements blow as well, that there is a problem within the amp section that will require repair.

Tweeter not working on 15" EON G2

I have the same problem and the same conditions.
The tweeter is good, 3.8 ohms.
Some points of solding (donuts), have bad aspect.
I resolder the power transistors to the PCB and I solve the problem.

The tweeters are probably blown, i had the same problem.
You can test this by placing the cable on the dismanteled crossover at the back of the speaker. colour blue/yellow.
No high volume please.
See http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/diy-speakers/4549-wharfedale-modus-one-six-crossover-pics.html
for pictures.
If the tweeter is blown it can be dismanteld with the aid of a screwdriver, horizontally.
Place it between the tweeterbowl and the ring which has the mark wharfedale on it. The tweeter comes loose. On second hand sites you can buy little speakers, like modus one or two's with the same tweeters for a good price and put them on your larger speakers.

This how i repaired 2 of my 4 modus eights.

good luck Danny Mol
