Using the small screen on the front of the printer, and the three buttons to the left of the screen - use the one to the right of the Green Check - toggle the menu to Main Menu Service Cleaning Mode, then hit the Green Check button and you should be able to get the printer path cleaned by following their directions.
You will need to look at the paper it prints out and follow any directions printed on that page, in case there are more things you must do.
There are also laser printer cleaning sheets which you can buy at a Staples or Office Max, or any decent office supply store, and each one has different instructions, so be sure to follow those directions to the letter, to get your 2600n clean.
I have the same printer and I do the head cleaning and prrint cleaning - maintenance - frequently, based upon how much I use that printer.
Since I have a number of different printers, I use the right one for whichever job I am doing at the time, so none of them gets over-used. But they all require a good maintenance pass regularly, to keep them working properly.
If you know the IP address of your 2600n, you can go to the internal menu by using your Internet Browser and putting in the printer's IP address. That will make it a whole lot easier to do maintenance of any kind, on this printer. Using the browser allows the firmware to put a real menu on your screen, for you to use.
If you know ip address of printer then you can access your printer with web interface for that type your printer ip address in internet explorer address bar. then you can access configuration of printer. But if you don't know ip then you need to check network configuration menu of printer . For that press menu button of printer then enter in network settings then you can know the printer ip address. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Try running couple of these test, to see if it might be another issue.
It should be printing these test at 1500 Line Per Minute... ?
1500LPM is at 10CPI if you have (Font size: 6, 8, 12, 14) it will make a difference.
Change your driver to Generic/Text, rerun your report... any difference?
After reading other solutions on the web site I decided to look into the hardware itself. It seems I have a faulty magenta cartridge. I do not know why the marks were coming out as perfect little check marks, but that is what threw me off- had they been smeared I would have guessed it was the cartridge right away.
