I accidently dropped my FinePix 7.3 camera on my carpet.....It caused the lens to get stuck. It will not come out and I've replaced the batteries and everything. I was wondering what I could do?

Tap it on the sides a few times, if that doesn't get it working then most likely you will need to send it for repairs.

Ofcourse you could try to fix it by yourself but I can say from experience that these cameras are a pain in the neck when your trying to put them back together.

contact your dealer or

Lens become stuck

Do you know what caused the lens to get stuck? Did someone drop it, or was the camera a long time not used?
Most of the time this is a mechanical problem. At least is you still can switch the camera on and get into the menus and when you still can view pictures taken.
In rare occasions, the blockage can be released with a little shock to the camera. Never use force on a camera, or tick something against a camera. you could slap your hand, holding the camera, but not hard. But when the blockage is caused by a broken gear, noting will help. The camera should go to a repair store.
Before you do, be sure the battery is fully charged. An old battery, could cause trouble too. More often than you can think of.

Fuji finepix s1000 zoom error lens is stuck out what can I do???

If you recently dropped the camera, you may have damaged the lens housing -- that will require professional repair. Otherwise, your problem may be as simple as low batteries or corrosion on the battery terminals inside the camera. Make sure that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and replace them in the camera. This cleaning works about 90% of the time, and I hope it clears up your problem.

After the basics, try dropping the camera on a carpeted area from about 2-3 feet. It worked for my Fuji A500 and 90% of the responders on the link. Everything on the web said it would cost ~$100 to fix. I was in the process of researching new cameras to buy and had nothing to lose by dropping it on the floor.
The error may be caused by debris in the zoom mechanism preventing it from working. Dropping the camera loosens the debris and voila!

'FOCUS ERROR'

If bought this at best buy and are still under your MFG warranty they can send it out to repair, or if you have their service plan, nothing you can do, this needs to be sent to a repair facility...
