Question about Transcend T.sonic 610 MP3 Player

Not initialising This problem ssuddenly developed yesterday. Request help. 1. Player shows "Initialising..... " when switched ON. Never comes to "Ready". 2. Cannot be switched OFF except through Reset button. 3. Hold button has no effect. 4. When connected to Windows XP, diplay shows "Ready" but goes off after some time. No data recieved from T.sonic. Windows is able to connect but keeps searching for file folder and then says "cannot connect" 5. Software update utility also says "device not found". Thanks in advance. Everytime i turn it on it shows the sandisk startup and company and it does that over and over again when i plug it into the USB it doesnt even turn on

Starting problem


Have you pressed in the reset button on the side with a pen (or similar) until you heard or felt a click and held it in for a few (3-5) seconds, while unattached to a computer?

Please check whether your set has been locked.

if yes then slide the lock button towards upward. then starts it will work.

otherwise please charge the set fully and switch on.

this will work.

Not able to play music files and it doesn't open the music folder at all.... It just says Initialising but it doesn't


Try resetting the Ipod by holding the menu button and the center button at the same time untill you see the apple logo appear. Good Luck

T.sonic cannot operate after it was formatted in Windows
Formatting T.sonic using the “Quick Format” or “Full Format” option in Windows destroys the
default format of the T.sonic. To retrieve the default format, you must link to
http://www.transcendusa.com/ and download the firmware updates for the T.sonic.

Not powering ON..getting switched off Transcend T.sonic 610 MP3 PLayer


Do NOT format it -- I did a complete format as another user suggested and now it only appears to be useful as a pen drive. It will not play anything and I've tried reinstalling the firmware and it doesn't even recognize that it's an mp3 player so I can't install it!
