The model unit is on the bottom drawer of the appliance. If you pull on the drawer it will be on the left hand side as soon as you open it. Good luck.

We're having a similar problem with our 2001 Spectra: the model and serial numbers are on a sticker on the front of the left-hand side of the drawer below the oven.

This should be a smooth top range. Smooth tops don't lift for cleaning - only for servicing.

The manufacture date is determined by the first two letters in the serial number. The first letter represents the MONTH of manufacture, while the second letter represents the YEAR.

The serial number and model number should be listed on a nameplate around the oven door opening, or lower drawer opening. Some manufacturers place the nameplate on the back of the control panel.

Model and serial numbers are on a tag. If you found the model number, the serial is on the same tag. The tag is usually on the back of the unit or on the side of the door, if the unit has a drawer on the bottom, check there also.

Most appliance service companies can order one for you. You can probably get one direct from GE also, but it most likely won't be any cheaper. 1-800-626-2000. (ge answer center) Make sure you have complete model number (located behind drawer front).
