I've read this machine produces excellent crema, probably due to the double-bottom design of the filter, which forces the coffee through 2 sieves. I've also read some other complaints about grounds becoming trapped between the 2 layers, clogging the filter. This is clearly a design flaw and NOT something you did. Some models come with a tool to unclog the wand or filters. Not sure which model you have but it seems like Breville recommends a 5 ½ -6 ½ grind in most of thier machines.

To remedy this: a good Vinegar/Water Flush & Cleaning really does wonders for the build-up and will also improve the taste/quality of your coffee.

Also, If you have a model with a pure steam function, you may want to check that it's not "selected" or "stuck" when you are "brewing". Silly as it sounds, it's another common problem with this model.

In any event~ whenever a product isn't working properly I suggest that the individual contact the manufacturer as soon as possible, as there is a strong chance they will replace the broken part or the entire product for free as long as it falls within their limited warranty time frame.

~ Good Luck and let me know how it turns out :0)

My Mr.Coffe maker percolates, steams and gets real loud. Only about 1/2 of the water fileters down to make the coffee. The rest seems to turn to steam.

A bad thermostat and may be limed up causing the steaming problem.Could also have substantial lime on t-stat probe.

1: do you pres the switch for steam and wait until it is ready? 2: how long time machine needs to be ready for steaming?
solution 1 = if you don't press the steam switch on you will have very small amount of steam. solution 2 = if the machine gets ready only for few seconds to steam, than you must change your steaming thermostat attached in boiler(there are 3 of them: 1 security 2 coffee brewing 3 steam
i hope you fix it soon and enjoy in perfect espresso

No water coming out

Well on a Aroma I allways test to see if its just not air in the machine.

Turn on the machine.

press the coffe button.

Then press the steamer button ( dont turn off the coffe button.)

Do it come out hot water from the steam nossle then after a while?

Then turn of the steam button, if the filter is not blocked there should now come water from the coffe outlet.

Wet grounds

What you see is condensed stem comming out and no water. The pump is not sucking from the tank as ther is an air bubble in suction line. Still want coffe and don't want to clean your machine??? Flick up the lever with no group in place. Steam comes first then nothing. Pump is running and - voila - water comes as air bubble is gone. (Specially the first cup , never the following ones.) Now put back the group and brew your espresso. The machine is full of scale and neds total clean - by hand./// Olev

Try to open the steam knob and turn on the button to make coffee, when the water flow out off the steam pipe, close the knob and the button.
