Question about Breville Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
I hope you can help - when I try to make coffe all I am getting is steam - it doesnt seem to be sucking up fro the milk tank... it will make coffee but to do a whole cup would now take about 15 mins.... :(
just steam and a trickle of coffee :(
I've read this machine produces excellent crema, probably due to the double-bottom design
of the filter, which forces the coffee through 2 sieves. I've also read some
other complaints about grounds becoming trapped between the 2 layers, clogging the
filter. This is clearly a design flaw and NOT something you did. Some models come with a tool to unclog the wand or filters. Not sure which model you have but it seems like Breville recommends a 5 ½ -6 ½ grind in most of thier machines.
To remedy this: a good Vinegar/Water Flush & Cleaning really does wonders for the build-up and will also improve the taste/quality of your coffee.
Also, If you have a model with a pure steam function, you may want to check that it's not "selected" or "stuck" when you are "brewing". Silly as it sounds, it's another common problem with this model.
In any event~ whenever a product isn't working properly I suggest that the individual contact the manufacturer as soon as possible, as there is a strong chance they will replace the broken part or the entire product for free as long as it falls within their limited warranty time frame.
~ Good Luck and let me know how it turns out :0)
