Question about BenQ PB6100 Multimedia Projector

3 Answers

I am on Norfolk Island (South Pacific) and very isolated in terms of assistance. I have replaced the lamp. The old lamp reached its' life and nil use again. When turned on the lamp illuminates to blue plus the notice of lamp expiration. I cannot get beyond this stage. Do I need to reset the projector to accept the new lamp, and if so, may I have some written assistance please.

Hi Terence

Yes you have to reset the lamp timer.

How to do this :

1.) Hold in the up arrow key on the Projector for 5 seconds , a on-screen display will appear in the top left hand corner.

2.) It will read : Press left or right and then Menu or Auto.

Just follow the steps and the lamp timer will be reset.

Thanks for using Fixya !

As per other solution. Please note, this may take a few attempts, either using the remote or onboard buttons or a mixture of both but I did eventually get the lamp hours to reset.

We just purchased a lamp for our HD20 projector, and after less than100 hours our picture looks like a Charles Schwab commercial. ( Any suggestions?

I would remove and replace the lamp to see if this works.
On my projector lamps for a different brand of projector the site I buy my replacements from states that if the bulb is under 1000 hours old and fails then it is covered by a warranty and this may be the same with yours.

If the old lamp is still around then I would revert to the previous one just to isolate the issue to the lamp.

After lamp replacement new lamp will not come on. we do not have the remote. what may cause new lamp to not work

It could be the lamp life has exceded its safe limit and engaged a permanant standby mode. I had an old NEC which I had to hold the off button down for 20 seconds and that reset the lamp life. You could try this. Not sure if your manual will help. You could probably download one from NEC website

Good luck

The projector came on for about 10 minutes and then shut off

Welcome to FixYa.

The projector could be overheating or the lamp has reached its end of life.

1. Clean or replace the air filter. 2. Check the lamp run time. If the lamp time has reached its end of life, replace the lamp.

Use the manual to do the above steps. Keep me posted.

I have the Panasonic pt -l759u multimedia projector the lamp timer has reached zero i need to know how to reset it i currently cant even get to the menu

You cannot reset the lamp timer. This is an indication that your lamp is at the end of it's life and must be replaced. Contact Panasonic for a replacement.

New lamp fitted to a 6121 uint but it says replace lamp as life has reached more than 2000 hours

Follow the procedure in the manual, as this counter needs resetting too. There may be a reset button near the lamp or cover.

Nec vt670 projector , displays "the lamp has reached the end of its usable life.please replace the lamp" the lamp and filter are fine how do i over ride this error

Typically you will need to replace the lamp. Do not try and squeeze the last hour from the lamp as there is now a chance if the lamp will shatter and scratch the mirror and lcd block rendering your projector with a permanent scratch when projected. If you already have a new lamp fittted then simply go to the menu setting, under installation or setup by memory and there is a reset option. Regards Kevin Andreassend +64-9-4142348

Infocus 540 lamp didnt strike keep trying

if mains is ok and fan running ok, could be a bulb service issue, all lcd projectors have an internal lamp life counter which counts down and once the lamp has reached the end of its life it will not fire up and a new bulb will be required.
