Question about Nokia 6288 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Phone won't read memory card, got two cards and it won't read either

It used to read them up to this morning, then when I put it on charge - because the battery was low - the battery icon stopped showing charging and I could no longer access the memory card.  I have checked the contents of the memory cards in my computer using a card reader and they are fine, I have backed them up to my computer just in case. Tried turning phone off and back on again with card in and out, no joy! Any suggestions?

My blackberry 9900 won't read media card

Will it read any card? if it will read another card just not "yours" or the one you want it to read then the card is either faulty, needs to be reformatted, or is a too high capacity for your phone.(some phones wont accept high capacity memory cards) How ever if your phone will not read any card it means you phone memory card reader is faulty or has poor or non existence connection to the proper points on the phone circuit board- in that event if it will not matter what the cause may be, you cant fix it- take it for repair--Good Luck.

If the card was one that was previously used in another camera, you can't use it in this camera without formatting it. Move the pictures to a computer and format the card via the camera (remember that all data on the card will be erased). Before formatting the card however, make sure the battery has sufficient charge as this process can take some time. Also remember to never interrupt this process as it can damage the card. The format option can be found in the settings.
Note: pictures taken on one camera can't be viewed on another camera.

It happens most of the time. Especially if your cellphone is designed to use up to 2 GB but yours is 4 or 8 gb. Your memory card can work on computer because it does no limit. While your cellphone memorry exceeds limit. Why dont you save all your important files and documents on your memory card. After that try to reformat the memory card of your Cellphone.

I cannot access my memory card

the memory card is write-protected, or it is damaged due to some several reasons

if it was write-protected, you should change it to readable mode first using the selector or using properties option in computer

if it was damaged, you should buy new one

I CAN`T PUT MUSIC IN IT

Make sure that the microSD card is formatted. You may reformat the memory card using your phone and then try saving some music.

If that will not do any help, try using another microSD card to see if the card is defective.

Have a great day!

Memory problems Nokia N95

Bit of a long shot, but take the card out and clean the gold contacts with a pencil eraser (a hard eraser is best).

Make sure there are no bits of rubber on the contacts when you put the card back in :-)

Switch the phone off and push the cleaned card in and out a few times. Good luck.
