Question about Hoover Washing Machines
We need to remove the agitatior to check if my ring is there or not.
Following the instruction, we removed the screw at the bottom of the agitator and tried to pull the agitator up. It didn't move a bit. We applied some RB6 (lubrelicate) but still not working at all.
Any advices before calling the service and repair?
Thanks very much for your help.

I have 550 Hoover about 6 years old, just out of warranty period,
is currently noticed the problem of stopping during prewash rinse, start again it startsup but stopped immediately. And keep repeating it. If i skip to spin manually then it almost completes the cycle. THis problem starts few months back also then vanished by itself and now it starts again.can some guru tell me if its because of belt or drive belt etc.

Remove the screw holding it down with a 1/4 inch nut driver.Look at the agitator from above and you will see a hole ,there is 1 only.Once you find tha follow from the hole up until you find the set screw and remove it

after removing the agitator from the machine (7/16 bolt) i place the agitator on the floor, step on either side of it and pull up on the top half, ittl come loose, needs a little help! a word of advice though is after replacing the agitator dogs, turn the entire agitator upside down and insert the bolt through the entire agitator assy and keep constatn pressure on the bolt as you turn it boack over and try to realign with thte tranny shat. ( you see the parts wanna seperate as you try to reinstall them otherwise)

SOURCE: I can't find the filter
The filter is in the agitator. Remove the agitator cap, and you will find it down there. The filter is pretty much useless. Even though you might get some lint in the filter, if it wasn't there the lint would go down the drain. This machine has a neutral drain feature where the lint gets pumped out with the rinse water before the bowl turns, so preventing the lint from being stirred up nd put through the clothes.
