Question about Audio Pro 15PLB76 15 Inch 800 Watt Woofer Car Speaker

1 Answer

Car speaker installation

My 2003 silverado truck has component speakers in the front. i doubt chevy actually went to the trouble and cost to install crossovers in the stereo or the separately under the dash. The tweeter has a small cpacitor wired to it that I'm gussing theyre using as the high pass filter and just letting the impedence of the woofer itself to act as the high filter to it. will I be OK just wiring the crossover of my new pioneer component speakers only to the woofer's wires or no?

Yes... for sure you can use the woofers wiring, BUT if you are keeping the factory radio you might have reduced volume and or quality due to the inefficency of some newer model higher power needing components... let us know if you are amping or not, and if not.. try and do so..

Going to install component speaker in my suv plz help me where to install front door or rear door also have a sub woofer in tail

go to and look under their car audio installation page. From there you will have to input your vehicles year, make, and model. It should give you detailed instructions on how to properly install your speakers. You could always look that info up on the general web, but I find crutchfield to be a lot more informative.

Trying to install kenwood kfc-1662s speakers in my 07 silverado crew cab and having problems mounting the speakers in. is there a mounting bracket that i need for them?

These speakers are not designed for your truck. I recomend asking chevy of what brands and what size speakers will fit in your truck.

I'm installing an aftermarket audio system in a chevy silverado using 2 amps. how would i get sound to the factory speakers from an aftermarket amp?

The best way would be to run the wires from each amp straight to each speaker. Just be careful with the amps. Most amps for full range mode are set for 4 ohm speakers. In a silverado they will probably be a lot less which could cause a short in the amp. Good Luck.

I have a 04 silverado do i need to install my component speakers in series or can i hook up woofer to factory wing and tweeter seperate from factory

With component speakers it is imperative that both the speakers be hooked up to the supplied crossover. Wiring them in series or parallel will not yeild satisfactory results since the woofer requires lower freequency then the tweeter, which plays the high notes.

Now some cheaper speakers do not use crossovers and sound rather poor. What make and model of speaker are installing? Does you truck already have component speakers in it?

Im having trouble installing the sps-600c alpine speaker system. i need a wiring diagram or somthing as im un farmiliar with split speakers that dont have a cross over.

Hello lucal_s2000,

Well, actually those 600c's do have a crossover. It's encapsulated in the wiring you got with the components. Your head unit or amp speaker outputs connect directly to the woofers. The inline crossovers have a 12" wire on one end and a 22" wire on the other end. Connect the 22" side to the 2nd set of terminals on the woofers, and the 12" side to your tweeters, keeping all of the positives and negatives straight.

Here's an image of the connections.
