Mitsubishi WS-55857 won't turn on

Hi.

I have a 55" Mitsubishi 1080 HD WS-55857. When I press the power button (on either the remote or the TV), the green light blinks on for 1 - 2 seconds, but then blinks off. The TV never turns on. Any suggestions?

I would take it to a repair shop, they charge around $50 to look it over, and then tell you want is wrong with it and they will give you the cost to fix it. This is what I do when TV's go out. It will save you time and money in the long run.

Open the TV SET and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. You can find the fuse very easily available in the market.

If it is blown replace it and do this wile the set is unplugged before replacing the fuse. You can also check the board where the components are mounted and
resoled any that look bad. Brief power outages may cause the tv to turn
off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the
set directly to the wall outlet.

I would suggest you to get a technician to check for any other part faliure. apart from fuse if you do find one.

Hello

this has two general failures that cause this type of problem... The first and easiest is that when the bulb gets older the tv's start turning off by themselves. Pop in a new bulb and the problem goes away. The second is a power supply issue, and those are generally available on ebay or shopjimmy. If you like the tv, I would find a new bulb ...

Best of luck

My tv has power and sound but no picture. its a mitsubishi projection model ws-55857

You need a new projector bulb. Google up your model and buy the best warranteed one you can find. Buy a "caged assembly" and not just a bare bulb.

Then unplug your tv and get a screwdriver. Follow your model's instructions and just snug down the electrical screws. Do not overtighten them.

Then consult your manual on how to reset the lamp timer so it knows you put a new bulb in and fires up from the first try.

Treat yourself because you've just saved yourself a trip from a repairman!!

After it shuts off, you need to get a code from the tv by pressing the menu and device buttons together for 5 sec. A code will flash at you made up of 2 digits. Example. 2 flashes a pause and 2 flashes points to a convergence failure. If this is not your code post yours and I will help you.
