I have an old monitor I put ona new XP Media Center computer. I can turn it off/on or unplug the video cable from the PC with the same results, it will work for 2 seconds then go black. Safe mode is the same thing. I have no drivers disk for it and am having trouble finding them. Is this a drivers issue? It does the same thing on one other XP Pro PC but has worked on others.

The MAG LT576S is an LCD monitor
I would think that the monitor is the issue, especialy that in safe mode it still does not function properly!
The fault with the monitor may be in the scan amplifier circuits, and or the power supply.
When I used to service these, I found many times that there were defective electrolytic capacitors in the scan amplifier sections and the power supply that gave problems.
This type of repair is time consuming, and when out of warranty it may not be worth the cost.
I would be seriously considering an LCD monitor.
