Question about Washing Machines

Kenmore 80 serice

I have a kenmore 80 series washer that will fill with water but no other cycles will work. I moved it and discovered some lite oil under it. Any ideas would be greatful.

The lid switch still makes a clicking sound when it is opened and closed. The coupler gromet on the motor still looks in tact. When I pull the knob on it makes a light humming sound. I havn't tried to turn the motor manually yet, I will try that this eve. Do you know of anything else I could check to help troubleshoot? The lite oil that I mentioned earlier was about a 6 inch round pool of oil, of course filled with dust and lint. Does that still sound acceptable?

Sorry it took so long to post back. I wanted to let you know that you were exactly right. There was a sock in the pump. Twenty minutes after I read your comment I had it fixed. Thank you so much you saved me big... What you do is truly great, keep up the good work we all appreciate you.

How do I check and replace the water level sensor on my Kenmore 80 Series Hvy Dty Washer?

Try eserviceinfo.com/index as per your 80 series. There are various downloads there that may help access the water level sensor which is most likely the problem.

Kenmore 80 series washing machine - won't stop filling with water on rinse cycle - never moves to next cycle - if I stop machine and manually move to spin, the machine does spin and the water drains

Your air pressure tube going to the water level switch is pinched or stopped up,OR, the water level switch is going bad.
Use this manual to access these parts and diagnose which is bad.

Kenmore 80 Series top loading washer--will not stop filling with water at the beginning of the wash cycle and for the rinse cyle. Is there an easy fix or should I purchase a new washer? How much can I

The pressure switch is failed - remove the tube from inside the top console area and blow it out. If you're lucky it will again work - with no charge.
