Okay i get this problem alot and I have this code numerous times. It basicly means that the Networks gaming servers are down for the time being and you can't log in. if you keep getting this code for over 1-3 days check to see if you system is up to date, cause that will happen to cause it, too. hope this helps. but its true, Playstation Network is down at least 5 days every month so just be patient.
The PlayStation Network is undergoing maintenance. Sony Thinks it could take up to three days to resolve the issues however some have reported being able to sign in after making several attempts. Hope this helped.
This error code means the data on the Playstation Store may be corrupted. Try logging out and then logging back in. If this doesn't help, you'll have to contact Playstation directly to resolve the issue.
Sometimes on either ends of communication either the PS3 network or your broadband can have have a bad connection. Unless there is a serious problem i would assume that It will come back on in about at most a day or 2. If not check settings (ip address etc.) and make sure broadband hasnt been cut off.
If your friends list doesn't come up, it should mean that you're not connected to the PlayStation Network. Right now the Network is experiencing some problems, and I'm having a lot of trouble signing in as well. If you go under the Network column in your XMB and select "Sign In" it should try again to connect. Once you're connected, your friends list will appear.
