Hello. Sadly the company went out of business. They made a conversion kit that was necessary to do what you want to do. IT is possible that you may be able to still get one. Try giving Childen's Land in San Diego, CA a call. I contacted Mory at 858-689-9998. He is very nice and very familiar with various series of Morigeau Lepine cribs. I got my conversion kit to convert to a full sized bed last weekend. http://www.childrensland.net/ hope this helps!
You can order the crib rails through your local Babies R Us. We have the same crib, and have been having trouble locating them also. I spoke with the store manager today, and she said all DELTA cribs use the same rails. They are a metal pair that cost $69.99. The number for them is: 617153. Hope this helps!! :-)
Use the allen wrench that came with the crib to slightly loosen the two bolts on the moveable gate side (bottom) then shimmy the sliding gate out of the tracks. I did it myself with verbal directions from the store - should be easy.
I just bought this crib on Craig's list and the ad said it converts to both a day bed and toddler bed, however I didn't have any instructions so found the Pali website and requested an instruction manual for this bed - and they indicated it converts only to a toddler bed, but you have to have purchased the conversion kit, which is also avaiable on their website.
So I would recommend going to the pali website and requesting the manual ! Hope that helps.
They do have answers on their website, you may want to check your printed or online crib instructions to remind yourself how you put the crib together, too.
I found the answers here: http://www.pali-design.com/index.php?path=customer_services&template=faq§ion=customer_services&subsection=faq&page=faq
i've pasted them below. You can make it a toddler bed without a side rail just by removing the movable side of your crib, and you can install the side rail instead of the movable side if you want it to look a little more finished and help keep your child from rolling out of the bed.
How to convert a crib into a toddler bed To
convert a crib into a toddler bed you must loosen the two front gold
bolts left and right side of the crib and remove the dropside (the
front gate that goes up and down). After removing the dropside be very
careful that you tighten back your two gold bolts.
How to install the streight rail (toddler rail) To install a streight (toddler) rail
loosen the two front gold bolts left and right side of the crib and
remove the dropside, once you have removed the dropside replace with
the streight rail. Always be very careful and make sure you tighten
back your two gold bolts in the front.
