My subwoofer stops when volume is increased

AMPLIFIER MODEL:ALPINE PDX-4.150(RMS 600 WATTS)
SUBWOOFER:ALPINE SWS-1043D(RMS 300 WATTS)
SUBWOOFER IS GIVEN FULL RMS 300 WATTS.
WHEN VOLUME IS INCREASED TO MORE THAN 23 (MAX35,SONY EXPLODE CAR STEREO) THE SUBWOOFER STOPS.
GAIN & OTHER ADJUSTMENTS ARE ALREADY TESTED.
KINDLY ADVISE.

I have this subwoofer eclipse 800 watts peak, 8 ohms , and i would like to know if the alpine pdx m6 can deliver 600 watts rms at 8 ohms too, o just at 4 o 2 ohms, i will appreciate your help.

No. It is optimized to deliver 600 watts onto either 4 or 2 ohm loads but will decrease to 300 watts into 8 ohms. However that equates to only about a 3dB difference in output level from the sub. 3dB is the smallest amount of volume difference the human ear can pick up. A doubling of volume requires a9dB increase which requires a tripling of input power.

They speakers, when they hit hard they make this odd... smacking sound.. Also on just like.. eminem songs and some rock songs that I listen to whenever the subs hit the vocals get distorted, but when I...

Well it sounds like you need a mono block amplifier for the subwoofers. Subwoofers are ment for low frequency. If you try to run regular audio through the subwoofer the sound will become distorted at a high volume. If you have a crossover on the amplifier try putting it on LP. Also do not exceed the RMX rateing on the subwoofer because if you do they will also distort. If you try adding the mono block on to it and it is still doing it you may also be running to much power to the subwoofers.

I hooked up 2channel 500 watt amplifer and 1200 watt 300 rms subwoofer now the protection light comes on when i turn up volume

your speakers rating is too low for your amplifier. 300 watts RMS means the speaker can operate on an average of 300 Watts continuously. the 1200 watt rating is peak wattage input and meant for intermittent intervals only, a like a bass drum beat count. also , your speaker impedance must match your amplifier impedance or the speaker must be a higher impedance than the amplifier. Never lower than the amplifier's impedance output rating. If The amplifier is rated into an 8 ohm load, your speaker must be 8 ohms or higher. in other words you cannot use a 4 ohm speaker or you will damage the amplifier .

Hi i have two 10'' jenson xs sub and they are about 6 years old and i was wondering wut amp size i should buy to run them.

I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck
