Go to the Canon website or Google search for Canon GL 2 drivers.

Sadly your gl2 took a very hard fall. Now you must contact customer service at Canon so that you can get it to a service center to be put back together again.

I'm having the same problem. I don't have the disks with the camcorder and Vista is not recognizing nor seeing the camcorder. I'm going to try to download Zoombrowser and see if that makes it work.

I have the same problem on my Canon XH-A1 and sony TRV33. I wonder if this problem applies to all camcorders?

Turn off the power saver mode. I did it and it works!

I hope I can offer a simple solution. If it doesn't work, then I'll I have to ask a few more questions. I know the GL has many buttons and settings and it can be confusing to keep an eye on all of them. Perhaps the camera was changed accidentally to manual focus? Can you check to see it is set to auto focus. If that isn't the case. When you say you can't focus, do you mean when you try to manually focus it, nothing happens?
