No with out the faceplate which has the main control module for the unit there is no way to run this unit. The face of the deck actually has some value. An you couldnt even find a face plate if you wanted to. If i were you just go online and buy a 40$ jvc or something there super cheap and have all the same features as that model an more like usb flash drive attachemen and audio inputs. An if it gets stolen it wont matter as much cause its only a 40$ deck.
The capacitors in these plates tend to burn out quickly for being so hot and lack of air cooling circulation. You can test all connection pins on the deck and faceplate with an ohmmeter in ohm setting to see which pins is not sending 25-30 ohms or 5 volts of power
I have the exact same problem. I called the tech line and the tech reported that the ribbon cable is probably broke. It is the flex cable between the head unit and the rotating face plate. He said it's not an expensive fix but we would need to mail it to a service center if you're like me and not near one. I just replaced mine with a new unit. It was about time anyways.
mine was stolen too. I thin you need to contact the seller or manufacturer to find out. If it is the same model number as it is on the main cd player part then I think it can work. But suggest you to contact the manufacturer.
