I have the same problem. please help

  • Par10 Feb 14, 2009

I have just built the system with a P45 NEO2-FR and it won't power up. No lights, nothing. I've tried two brand new power supplies so I really don't think that's the problem.

Your GTX 650 requires 450w MINIMUM to run.

I highly recommend you get a 550w+ power supply to ensure it runs stable.

There is an 80% likelihood you simply do not have the power to run this video card.
10% the card is faulty.
10% someone else is going wrong.

Open up your case and check how much power your power supply has.

I need to know the power rating in watts of a power supply unit. Model no: MXC-230MF I believe it has been made by BFG technologies inc in USA The unit is blown, so I cant put a tester on it.

The power rating of the switch mode power supply is printer on the label on the power supply.
The amp output is shown for each voltage and the total output of all voltages is shown as a wattage.
Eg 300w or 450w etc.

Intel D865GBF/D865PERC does this mother board support 450W SMPS or higher. If heigher how much Watt does the mother board support

You can install a 450w or higher wattage switch mode power supply.
The total wattage of the power supply you require depends upon the power consumption of all the devices that are installed on your computer and any additional devices you may wish to install in the future.
I suggest you need not exceed the total power requirements by more than 10%.
It is like putting a jet engine in your car when it does not need this much power and it would cost more money.

Hi there

The only thing that i can suggest at the moment, if you install a graphics card greater than 256mb then you will need a power supply of at least 450w or above otherwise it wont work for PCIE or AGP or PCI.

Hope this was helpfull
