First, we need to identify the problem, it can be either with your laptop or with your Wireless router or with your Internet service provider.
so, first Step 1. please check whether you have "switched ON" the wireless on your acer laptop or not.(there may be a On /OFF switch on the laptop itself) Step2. check weather you are able to connect to internet with wires or not? (which means that you need to bypass your wireless router and directly connect the cable to your acer laptop) If you are able to connect to internet through wires but not wirelessly then follow the rest of the steps.. Step 3. check whether your wireless is connected in the correct fashion or not... for that view the 2 videos which i have attached in this solution. Step4. if the above steps do not work then it could be that your laptop or it's driver configuration are not OK. you can then insert the "DRIVER" disk which came with your laptop and install the wireless driver again.
Here are the Videos....
If still issue is unresolved then please ask me again, i'll be ready to help.

Can your laptop connect to the internet using an ethernet cable that is connected to the Hawking router?
Check to see if your laptop has a wireless on-off button or switch on the outside of the case. It may even be a combination of two keys "Fn + F2" on some Gateway laptops. When you flip the switch an indicator light of some kind will tell you when your turning the wireless radio on and off. Flick the switch until you're sure the radio is on and try to connect.
