lost. is there a way to reset the memory
    on the lvw 5005?

Use a separate disc for each movie. Sometimes when you try to record more than one movie on a disc, the player only reads the first one (if at all).

If you meant that you are having difficulty recording a new movie, then first make sure that the disc is rewritable and that it is a multi-session disc, that is, it was not finalized after recording the first movie..

In this case, it is either a defective laser/sensor or a dirty lens. You can try using a CD lens cleaner to clean the lens (You can purchase one from any electronics shop) and see if this helps.

If not, there could be a problem within the DVD circuitry itself..laser/sensor, etc. You will either have to get the player serviced or replaced.(whichever works out cheaper for you...)

No..unfortunately, you may have to replace the entire control board. It may be cheaper for you to just buy a new player. Thats my honest opinion..

Are you using re-writeable DVDs?
If you are not using re-writeable, you will not be able to record.

If after cleaning the lens still not playing you could a defective laser, if it does not read the DVDs.

Its possible that the disc was finalized on recording and it isn't possible to record on a disc after that.

You have a Lite On .. and which model? I'l see if there is a setting we can change.

  • Ekse May 18, 2008

You can get your user manual from this page

    http://www.liteonit.com/global/index.php...

Il have a look if there are instructions on this.

  • Ekse May 18, 2008

Ok, so indeed if the disc is finalized you cant add more, but if you don't finalize it you can still record on it.

  • Ekse May 18, 2008

then your lens is possibly dirty, try a cd/dvd lens cleaner.

    something similiar to this

    http://www.amazon.com/Memorex-CD-DVD-Pla...

  • Ekse May 18, 2008

yea, the lens might have failed, it should be covered by warranty if you still have it. So contact your dealer incase the dvd cleaner doesnt solve the problem.

I suppose you can do the replacement by yourself, if you have experience in electronics.

  • Ekse May 24, 2008

I don't understand your question. The memory is lost? your movies and so on are lost I don't know what you mean.

Panasonic DMC-FT1 can't upload movies

Easier solution. Your record setting are on AVCHD best for playing HD on TV. set your camera to HD JPEG and you can watch it on your PC and save it aswell through software provided. Also if you want to save recording that are already on AVCHD just conect to a DVD recorder and record it to DVD or use free software like Media Classic but I prefer not to add too many media software products as they can cause conflits and more problems

Dmr-ES30V Dvd plays pre record movies fine but I

Try a different brand of blank dvd+r or -r. you will find that your dvd machine is fussy on what discs it plays. More exspensive dvd players are fussy with what dvd discs you put in, as cheaper dvd players would virtualy play most types of dvds.

I have a Magnavox ZV427MG9. I follow all directions in manual for dubbing VHS home movies to DVD but when I try to play the DVD back there's nothing on them. What am I doing wrong?

Depending on the procedure you may be pressing the record button instead of the D.Dubbing or Dubbing button. When recording from VHS to DVD you must first, load the blank DVD and VHS home movies, then play the VHS movies, then PAUSE the VHS movie when you want to START recording... then the only the you have to do is pressing the D.Dubbing button or the Dubbing button. If your VHS tapes starts to play after the Dubbing button is pressed you have been successful in Dubbing.

Toshiba dvr will load some dvds & not others

My machine has also done this since it was new. I was just about to bring it in for repair when I thought I would try one more thing. I turned on the recorder. I put in the movie that would not play and let it load (of course it would not load). I pushed the on/off button on the recorder and held it down until the "wait" message came up on the display. After the message disappeared I turned the recorder back on. To my surprise the movie loaded and played. I tried all the other movies I had trouble with and they also played. I hope this helps. I saved my self over 200 dollars in repair bills. I was quite surprised at the lack of help from toshiba.

Titles

you need software such as this
then you can do much more than titles to your DVD movies

if you are talking about retail movies you've purchased and not home movies, you have to rip them to your hard drive then use something like the above software

thanks for rating
