hook it up to a computer, in the back of the router put the cord with the yellow end/yellow phone wall clip,in to the yellow slot in the back of the router and the other end put it in any opening in the back of the power box/main power system. then put the plug in power cord to the router/ wall charger. and if you have a newer computer go on main screen and upper right corner ther should be a Bluetooth sign click on that and the routers name should be there?
One end of the cord goes into a wall outlet, the other end connects to the battery charger, not the camera. Take the battery out of the camera, put it into the charger, and plug in the charger. See the illustration on page 10 of the manual.
If you're using the charger that comes with the camera, it doesn't plug into the camera at all. Take the battery out of the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a wall outlet.
If you're using the USB cord, it plugs into the camera on the left end (as viewed from the back).
Remove the battery from the camera and insert it into the supplied charger. Plug one end of the cord into the charger and the other end into a powe outlet. The indicator on the charger will glow red while charging, then blink when the battery is charged.
My old Panasonic Palmcorder IQ shows a red light in both switch positions-camera and VCR. Maybe yours has red for camera and green for VCR so you could tell them apart. I found that the Panasonic battery that came with the camera was the cheapest kind with the least charging time. I bought other batteries, they were good for a while, but now, many years later, they won' t hold a charge. Since I am only recording inside of my house, I have resorted to using the AC wall socket for power. I have to take the battery out of the camera. I found a power plug-in hole (like ones on cell phones) in the battery compartment. I also found one of these holes on my battery charger. My camera came with a double ended power plug. I plug one end into my camera and the other end into the battery charger. I plug the charger power cord into the wall outlet, and I have power to my older camera. Maybe you can find this double ended power cord at a store or on line.
Did you know that there are 2 kinds of batteries? Some have memories and others do not rely on a memory. The ones with memories have to be fully discharged or they will only charge a little, and keep charging less and less each time they are charged. The ones without the memory can be charged fully without being discharged fully. Check into battery information on line to get more information. Maybe you can get the non-memory kind.
Do you have a battery charger? If so, on mine I found a power-in little hole next to the battery power pins in the camera battery compartment. I also found the same type of power-in hole (like the ones found on a cell phone) on my battery charger. A double ended cord came with my camera. Maybe you have one, too. I plugged one end into the camera and the other end into the battery charger. Then I plugged the battery charger into an AC house outlet. This gave power to my camera. I am sure that you can find this type of double ended power cord on line or at a store.
Your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W170 came with a cord that had a little flat plug on one end and three separate plugs on the other end. The single plug goes into the bottom of your camera. The end that has three plugs has
(1) USB (2) video output (3) audio output
(2 and 3 are for hooking up to your TV)
If you connect the USB end to your PC and the single, flat plug into your camera, this acts as the USB cable. There is no USB plug on the camera (for just a USB cord).
Does this charger have an AC cord that plugs into it with a 2-prong end on the cord. If so, you should be able to find the cord at most electronic stores like Radio Shack.
If not, you can buy a replacement charger on ebay or from Amazon.
Drive cable is attached in two places. One at the hinge end of the scanner. The other at the control panel end. The hinge end connection is a simple ball-end that slips into the slot. The control end fixing is more complicated. The wire cable at this end has a spring attached. This is fixed to a plastic fitting which clips into place. Look carefully the plastic fitting. Fit the spring over the small peg and take the cable round the radiused part of the plastic fitting. And refit the plastic clip to the scanner body.
Fiddlly but doable.
The cable often comes loose when someone investigates how to take the scanner to pieces. Underneath they see a round pin with a small rectangle on each side. They press the round pin in slide the piece of plastic in the rectangle and hey presto they'll undone the cable. Oooops!!!!!!!!
