    Sorted,

I found the manual online, it was short unhelpful. But I did discover through experimentation that if you continue to put the wrong password in the thing resets, removing any old files but keeping the operating system intact. Which is great because I didn't want any of the previous owners **** on it anyways :)

I want to format my ipaq hx2410 please tell me how to do that

To perform a hard reset you need to press buttons 1 and 4 in addition to the reset hole. This should do the trick.

The guidelines for resetting your phone is given below

Performing a Hard Reset

Perform a hard reset only when you want to clear all
user-installed settings, applications, and data from RAM
(Random Access Memory), where data and applications you have
loaded are stored.

CAUTION: If you perform a hard reset, your Pocket PC loses all data
and programs not saved in iPAQ File Store.

To perform a hard reset:

1. Press and hold down the Calendar and iTask buttons.
2. While holding down these buttons, use the stylus to
lightly press the Reset button on the bottom of the iPAQ
Pocket PC for about two seconds.

3. When the Pocket PC screen begins to fade, release the
Calendar and iTask buttons first, and then remove the stylus
from the Reset button.

Note: If you simultaneously push and hold the Reset, Calendar,
and iTask buttons for more than two seconds, the battery
disconnects. To restart the device, either plug the device into the
AC Adapter or press the Reset button again.
After performing a hard reset, you may need to reinstall
applications stored in iPAQ File Store to restore shortcuts and full
functionality.

4. The Pocket PC resets and powers on.

To return your iPAQ Pocket PC to factory settings after
performing a hard reset:

1. Tap Start > Programs > File Explorer > My Device.
2. Tap the iPAQ File Store folder to open it.
3. Tap Edit > Select All.
4. Tap and hold the selected files, then tap Delete.
5. Tap Yes to delete all file in iPAQ File Store.

Hx2410 won't connect with the computer, i'm put as guest

Its a ActiveSync that you have on your CD (bundled with u'r own IpaQ) that I think it's suite best, because I've once installed ActiveSync v4.3 (upgrading..), device connection is intermittent, and some syncronizing process fails.

When i reinstall the Bios on my Ipaq Hx2410 is fail.

I think you've know already (as an experienced technician) that opening h/w case won't solve anything..
The normal BIOS write is about 20 min (or more), longer than that it could be a problem with ActiveSync or your PC connections.
I'm afraid the ROM chip cannot re-restore because flashing basically format and write your BiosRom chip. Just pray that doing "hard reset" will turn your 'tiny' IpaQ to come alive.

My H5450 won't charge!

When you charge up your iPaq, do you use the cradle, or do you use the AC-adapter with the little iPaq power converter that came with the iPaq? Try both, and see if it charges up your pda. Try and borrow an iPaq car-charger and see if it charges up that way (the ones that do not need the iPaq power converter). If you are lucky enough to power up the iPaq even for 2 minutes, enable USB fast charging in the SETTING -> BATTERY. Your USB-data-cable or cradle will then be able to charge it up that way...

Have you been able to connect through your router at home? I'd get that set up and running first. Then doing it on the road will merely be variations on a familiar theme. If you've tried at home but it hasn't worked, let us know something about your home network (what kind of router? using security/encryption?), and about what you've already tried so we can try to help.

My Ipaq is stuck Hello, I have this model Ipaq and I thought from the beginning that something was wrong with it, but I thought maybe is me, the user. Now I can not turn it on. Actually, I can turn it on from the on/off button on top, but I have it only turns on and never gets to my password sreen no matter where and how I touch the screen. It seems like the screen is stuck. I like these PDAs, they do what I need them to do for me, but the operating system on them simply is TERRIBLE. The fact that now I have the feeling is nothing I can do to turn it on anymore and the fact that I did not get a chance to back it up recently, means that I am going to loose everything on it in the event I have to maybe take the battery out to try to turn it on that way. This PDA I have the minute I take the battery out it resets and erases everything on it. It seems like the back-up battery does not play a role ast all. By the way, what kind of system is that of loosing everything if you take the battery out? These PDAs are practically similar to the phones and I do not understand why it has an otion of changing the battery if you have to reconfigure it every time you put a new battery in. This is beyond my understanding and makes this item very faulty, wouldn't you say so? If I can not ever turn it on without loosing my info on it I will never use a PDA again and I am willing to smash this one to wall, I am so upset. I hope you can help me because I am very sad at this moment and I have a lot of work in it in which I put a lot of time and I will be very sad if I loose it. Thank you so much and I hope you understand my frustration. Sincerely, Daniela Geana
